Planes can reach incredibly high speeds, with some aircraft exceeding Mach 3 (more than three times the speed of sound).Β The fastest planes are typically military fighter jets and experimental aircraft.Β Commercial planes generally cruise at around Mach 0.8 (around 981 km/h or 610 mph).Β
Here’s a closer look at plane speeds:
Fastest Planes (Military and Experimental):
NASA X-15:Β Mach 6.72 (4,520 mph).
SR-71 Blackbird:Β Mach 3.4 (2,500 mph+).
Lockheed YF-12:Β Mach 3.2 (2,275 mph).
MiG-25 Foxbat:Β Mach 3.2 (2,190 mph).
Bell X-2 Starbuster:Β Mach 3.2 (2,094 mph).
NASA X-43:Β Mach 9.6 (approximately 7,000 mph).Β
Commercial Aircraft:
Airbus A330Neo:Β Maximum speed of 1,061 km/h (659 mph).Β
Boeing B788:Β Maximum speed of 1,051 km/h (653 mph).Β
Boeing 747-8i:Β Maximum speed of 1,136 km/h (706 mph).Β
General Speed Information:
Commercial planes typically cruise at around Mach 0.8.Β
Jet aircraft generally cruise most efficiently at altitudes around 10,000β15,000 m (33,000β49,000 ft) or more.Β
Some commercial planes, like the Boeing 747-8i, can reach speeds over 1,130 km/h (700 mph).Β
Fighter jets can reach speeds from Mach 2.25 to Mach 9.6, showcasing the heights of aviation engineering and military capability.

If you get an impressive 60-0 youβll need a new presenter
-
Needs a couple of Spoon motors from Hector !
-
Ain’t gonna have them in time for Race Wars, π.
-
Its risky, cause a legend says-
So much torque, the chassis twisted coming off the line
-
-
It doesn’t need to accelerate that quickly, it reaches a much higher speed eventually but it does it as efficiently as possible. Also the speed going down is because it’s ascending which lowers the horizontal speed.
Hope that helped
-
Not sure if the speed isnβt changing because the horizontal speed is descending. Isnβt more due to the speed just being constant (i.e not accelerating)
-
I thought it’s just the machine has nothing to measure with and compare since it’s pointing at the horizon at that point
-
Now I don’t know who to believe. Every option seems plausible.
-
Its called ground speed, and when ascending you’ll get higher airspeed compared to ground speed (lets assume zero wind)
-
I hope we get the same test in a fighter jet or other fast military aircraft, especially if it’s carrier capable like the F/A18 Super Hornet or F35C Lightning II.

Can we lease one on carwow? π

Yes by clicking the pop out banner or the link in the description. Additionally if you are on a tv you can scan the the qr code to get the best price possible.

Does this include a 1-foot rollout?

You’re telling me my fiat could beat a plane in a 1/4 mile run and in a 0-60 contest?
-
Dunno about 0-60 lmao jk
-
@SoulvexΒ it says 0-60 11.something seconds, my fiat does it in less than 10!

@@Tommyg-rq6lj But can your Fiat fly?

@@user199543999 no, can the plane go around the nurburgring?

Need a 757 with the rolls engines, real hot ships
-
Facts …. You push back in the seat on launch
-
Not to mention the new 3 inch rolls engine with as much power as an f1
-
The B757 was capable of climbing at 6,000 feet per minute.
Or in language a car driver can understand, it could have a VERTICAL speed of 68 mph.
-
-
The 0-60 time depends on the plane and the length of the runway. When you have a long runway, you dont go “full throttle” ( only 80-90%) to “protect” the engines and make them last longer.

I do the same thing in my car but people honk at me.

When your vehicle weighs 200 tons, 0 to 60 in 11.5 seconds isn’t really too bad.

“So what’s the verdict on the airplane – Should you avoid it, shortlist it, consider it or just go right ahead and buy it?”
-
Well I think you should Go right ahead and buy it

Cuz itβs just so luxurious and plus. Flies in the sky, now if you liked this short like and subscribe and I will see you in a next car review.

You should mention that its an A320/21neo powered by Leap-1A engines. And also weight matters. In addition, full power is never used unless at MTOW or go around.

11sec to 60 must be one of those diesel airplanes

Kerosene and diesel are quite similar. They could run on dieselπ

And now the brake test from 100 mph π

In case you are wondering, the aircraft is not slowing down, horizontal speed vector is being used for climbing

$ADA and $XAI62K are my top picks going into Q2. Solid fundamentals.
-
Remember air speed is not the same as ground speed. This is why the reading drops after take off as the airplane is on an angle relative to the ground.

This is the Airplane GTR S3 Turbo CS, it has got V12 Engine that makes 1700 horse power and 2000 NM of torque, it goes 0-60 in just 2.9 ms and it weighs 18525 tons. It has carbon fiber seats and it costs 235K million pounds. This is Mat and you are watching AirplaneWow.
