2025 Nissan Patrol (Y63) – Nissan’s iconic SUV has got BIGGER, BETTER and HEAVIER at 3.5 tonnes !

I attended the world premier of the 2025 in Abu Dhabi. This is the 7th generation of the renowned and is a hugely essential lorry for in ket market like the Middle East and Australasia. I take a first browse what is quickly the biggest vehicle I have had on the channel. Although it isn't concerning the UK it contains some interesting innovation that we could see in other lorries

    When you said 3.5t, I was expecting some kind of hybrid! Hope you got to try some dune bashing while you were out there. It’s insane what the Patrol and Landcruiser can do in the desert!

    The twin-turbo V6 might attract buyers who want better fuel efficiency and modern features, but the classic V8 engine will probably still be popular with long-time Patrol fans in the Middle East, especially because of its strength and off-road abilities. This could also raise the resale value of current V8 Patrols, leading to higher demand for both new and used V8 models in the short term.

    Perfect car for the area and segment it’s aimed at. It’s great to see other parts of the world are not falling down the EV/20mph speed limits and ULEZ fiasco unlike the UK.

    I used to run an Isuzu Trooper from Argyll in Scotland to Dover and back towing a trailer with 2 ton of steel on the return journey and it was very comfortable and capable on a long journey. That car looks even bigger but I am sure it is every bit as good if not better as that was nearly twenty years ago and cars are always improving.

    As suspected it’s the same vehicle that’s been on sale here in the US since May 24, except it’s named the Nissan Armada. Out of curiosity I did try one, and the V6 turbo has plenty of grunt low down, but obviously not the soundtrack of the V8. Retail pricing starts at around $95K USD for the base trim without options. Just to confuse matters, I have just bought an Infinity QX80, which is a gen 6 Patrol/Aramda with a different front end treatment and a nicer interior trim. It’s a 2023 model with less than 20k miles and came with a Nissan certified 6 year warranty, for below half price of the newest version Nissan.

      95k? Is that the price of patrol or the qx80?
      Because the new patrol fully loaded is 108500usd while you said it starts at 95000usd.
      No the previous generation isn’t the same as the patrol because it doesn’t have the off road features both armada and qx80

    loved the video! I’d like to correct one piece of info, it actually weighs between 2.7 & 2.8 tons (which is still HEAVY), but not 3.5. The 3.5 figure is for gross weight (with max load) if I’m not mistaken.
