    The proportions look unusual for an exec hatch…. Rear overhang too short and not enough exterior bling IMO. Interior looks beautiful

    It is really high for a fastback/sedan. That’s why the proportions don’t look as sleek as a regular sedan. I understand that they have to squeeze the batteries below the car. That’s why electric SUVs are generally better looking than electric sedans.

      Tesla figured out how to squeeze that many batteries under the Model S 15 years ago.

      Tesla figured out how to squeeze all those batteries under the Model S 15 years ago. This Volvo has too high a load floor, a tiny frunk, and a really high roof. While I do like the look, it’s really big. And heavy!

    I’ll stick with my Enyaq. I’ll add that as ev’s go. My Enyaq is quiet. People that come in it are surprised by the ride. Scared by the acceleration and are converted by the smoothness of an ev. It’s the nicest car I’ve ever had it’s a Sportline 85x. I’d put it against this Volco.

    A sub 500l boot on a car that large is a head scratcher. It’s still too expensive compared to Chinese alternatives, but can’t deny how calming and luxurious it looks inside.

      Chinese alternatives are not cheap. Cost of a chinese car consists of govt dotations, and blood of people killed by ruzzia, which is supported by chinese “neutrality” resources and proxies like north korea.

    I want to try one. Hopefully it has better software than the early versions of the software of the Polestar 4 (it uses the same switchgear)

      I tested the P4 last week and didn’t see any issues with the software. Maybe I needed more time to experience issues. Anyway, the car was great.

      P4 and Es90 have no Volvo software in common. The switches are the same because it’s stock Geely parts. The P4 has modified Geely software similar to the Zeekr 001. The ES90 has new software which will replace the software in the EX90

      @benjaminsmith2287

      No, Polestar 4 does not use the same switchgear as the Volvo ES90. It’s a different platform entirely. The Polestar 3 and Volvo EX90, yes, but not the 4.

      @Kurre. The switches are not the same and not stock Geely parts.

    Where have our stalks gone. I did not buy a Polestar3 just recently as the controls are so hidden away. So this looks the same. Now worried this is teh new Volvo standard as I was waiting for a EX60. Zeeka is the same. Grrrr. It worked why fix it ?

    6:04 It is also good for market manipulation. Given that the mentioned company is now buying (investing in) products that contain its chips in order to artificially inflate sales figures.
    In reality, it doesn’t matter who manufactures the chip. What matters to customers is the software layer that influences their experience with the product.

    Those shots of driving on the narrow hillside roads show just how huge this vehicle is. There looked to be barely 20cm of clearance between you and the guard-rails.

    Sorry the back looks ugly, no comparison with the polestar 4, that has a rather nice looking rear end with the lightbar connecting the rear lights

    It’s part sedan, part fast-back, part SUV…urm part taxi. I can’t unsee it. That lidar bar makes it look like a city cab.

    Years ago Volvo were hyper focused on safety, but putting almost everything in the touchscreen really feels like a step backwards as it could be quite distracting.
