      It only takes 2 seconds 😉

      If you open it several times per day I may perhaps see an issue. Else you are making an problem from absolutely nothing.

    Why did you not mention that the long range gets the premium hifi with subwoofer, whereas the standard range doesn’t..

    Audio quality is a factor too for many when choosing a new car.

      Trust me, you wouldn’t say you’re listening to a “lower quality audio system” if you didn’t listen to the 3 LR or S/X. I have both the LR and SR.

    2. @ev.c6 Avatar
      @ev.c6

      People always complain about this and I never understood why. It’s not like you are adjusting mirrors every time. Most modern cars adjust mirrors based on user profile, and Teslas are not different.

    Steering wheel and wing mirror adjustment complaints is such a ‘reviewer’ issue, who are jumping from car to car. Owners usually set and forget.
    Reviewers really need to be more careful about the reviewers bias and making issues about things which only really apply to them 😅

    1. @jamespaul2587 Avatar
      @jamespaul2587

      Exactly, most people rarely use the glove compartment also. Another point he failed to mention is the vehicle has driver profiles which can be set to include automatic adjustments to the wheel, mirrors and seat settings.

    2. @Popdog76 Avatar
      @Popdog76

      Tesla saves this and other settings to your profile. So it’s a non issue If you even do switch teslas 😀

      I set my steering wheel maybe three times during the first year of ownership and that’s it. Two of the, are to tweak the position further. All done when at a standstill and parked. Shouldn’t even be a bother mentioning in the review as you can save the position. 😂

    I didn’t get the comment about stopping charging without a button. Was he saying its a negative point people outside the car who may not be an owner / operator can’t just unplug your car and stop it charging? Surely you wouldn’t want someone to be able to do that?

    1. @SusieSmart Avatar
      @SusieSmart

      On most AC chargers, you need to stop the charge at the car end unless you wanna stop it in an app. Once you unplug the charger will then release the cable.

      You can buy cables which have a little button on them (similar to the supercharger cable) which will stop the charge so you don’t need to worry about releasing it in the car. TBH it wouldn’t bother me having to stop it in the app, especially the Tesla app since it seems to work pretty much 100% of the time.

    Great review but as a VW EV owner it really isn’t that much of an issue to use an open Tesla. Main problem can be the charging flap being on the other side however the new V4 chargers have longer cables.

    Really interesting and thorough review. Whilst I have always admired the tech and capability of the 3, I never like its styling but this facelift has changed all that. I think its a really good looking car now and the upgraded interior materials makes a big difference there as well. I appreciate that Tesla push the boundaries of design and engineering but I think the indicator and gear selection is a step back. Great car though.

    1. @landcruiser801 Avatar
      @landcruiser801

      That is part of the design ethos, the best part is no part… and I think it was the chief designer at Tesla said until you have to add 10% back in you have not taken enough off.

      The gear selection is fine as it is mostly automatic i.e. if you are in a parking spot facing forward reverse is auto selected etc… the signal also fine apart from on roundabouts

    @TheDude50447

    Touchscreens are a real pain in the backside already but this one takes the cake. Literally none of the controls are where you expect them. Its almost like relearning to operate the car. Luckily Tesla builds in a lot of safety features allowing the car to almost drive itself which is a good thing because the driver has to look and search through the touchscreen so often.

    1. @jwstolk Avatar
      @jwstolk

      The gear selector slider works very well and I keep most settings on auto (like high-beams) , I only have issues with the window wiper speed controls, but have mostly switched to using voice commands for that, so I can keep my eyes on the road. On autopilot, the automatic wiper speed control is usually ok-ish. The auto-high-beams work much better than the auto-wipers (with the refreshed Matrix headlights)

      My preferred solution: make all 6 buttons work as “exist roundabout button” while on roundabouts. The voice control button is also on the steering wheel but maybe it voice commands could be enabled on roundabouts automatically, but that would turn down the music on every roundabout. I think most issues are caused by the refreshed model 3 just being too fast at zipping over small roundabouts….

    Presume that as a soft ware update they could adjust the blinker thing for roundabouts i.e. you say press the button as you approach roundabout say to turn right… and you are straight so no issue in locating button… you turn as you go round roundabout… teh car from the location/satnav and steering input could using AI presumably tell where you are and as soon as you steer to come off the left blinker automatically comes on?? Typed this out now so leaving it on.. but seen the flaw in that idea.

    Owned BEVs for quite a while now…the charging times are of minimal concern. They just work, and with home charging are almost irrelevant. It is almost never that anyone charges from 0-100%. That’s a gas car mindset question. Most days are finished with the car somewhere well above 30% SOC, and I only charge the car to 74% for daily use. Some days it doesn’t get recharged at all. What matters is that it is more convenient and much less expensive than the technology it replaced. Full depth discharges and recharges are extremely rare- even on road trips it doesn’t usually happen.

    The best measure of charging speed is miles added per timeframe like 15-20 minutes. Charging speed is a combination of efficiency and kwh. Please stop focusing on time taken for 20-80 or some other silly metric.
