I thought the Tiguan was also listed in the unreliability surveys?

It is! Insane amount of issues for a brand new release. These lot will take their funds though and dance from “buy it” to “shitbox” as long as it gets views.

Isn’t Karoq competing with the T rock

I’ve just had one of these as a hire car. Good points for me were ride and refinement and it was decent on fuel, The gearbox was a shocker though. Really difficult to manoeuvre smoothly and the calibration with the throttle was just odd. I also found the seats a little flat and lacking lumbar support over a long stint behind the wheel. Instrument display was clear but I gave up trying find the trip information. I was glad to get back in my Volvo S60 with its smooth gearbox and comfy seats.

Tiguan is BETWEEN Kodiaq and Karoq if you look at the size, but if you look at the price, it costs even more than Kodiaq, so the fair comparison would be vs Kodiaq, not vs smaller and much much cheaper Karoq, on which you based the whole review.

8:13 as you say “decent quality”, the whole panel bends in 😅
VW is praised way too much, they are allowing themselves to be cheap now and nobody cares yet. ..people are impressed that its better than Dacia level

Had one of these on holiday , brand new , it had squeaks and rattles , the gearbox was woeful . Quality of the plastics was not what I expect from a vw . All in all not as good as a Qashqai although I’m probably spoilt by having an EV that’s so comfortable and fast .

Another one with Underpowered engine only 186 lb torque , only realistic option is the diesel

I’ve a plug in model. Excellent range and performance are the positives. Build quality is not good. My 120k octavia had less rattles and squeeks. 😢. Over a decent car but…

I have a Tiguan from 2012 although it is known by its more regular name of Skoda Yeti. The Yeti is a Tiguan with a different body plonked on top and very super duper it is too. I still enjoy driving it and will miss it when it goes.

What was that survey where this came out as the most unreliable?

With this price, heated seats and steering wheel should be standard, not extra. Would pick a KIA anyday over this.

If 1.5 TSI is the recommended option, then Honda CR-V looks like a good competitor with better reliability and a more efficient powertrain. But of course in Europe Hondas are priced very high nowadays.. It’s always strange to me that German cars are not even compared to Japanese, like if they are not in the same category.

I stopped watching where he says they still have sliders for temperatures. If VW dont want listen to what previous Customers are saying, well, I guess that is why many of us have moved on to other brands.

Any car with that ridiculous vw ipad and sliders for the climate and other controls is immediately off my list. You have to look away from the road to use it which dangerous and shouldn’t be allowed

In Macedonia we also offer the 2.0 TDI 4Motion with 193 hp. It costs 60,000 euros.

I have some experience with a carsharing Tiguan, also with the eTSI 150 engine. While the interior is generally okay, the eTSI has some annoying behavior: the braking is inconsistent between regenerative and hydraulic modes. It slows down very slowly in regeneration mode and then brakes too hard after switching to hydraulic braking. And that dreadful engine shut-off during driving—when switching from coasting to acceleration, the engine comes in harshly with a noticeable kick when the gearbox engages.

Had a 24 model which developed all sorts of errors on the infotainment system. The VW garage could not fix these and after six times requested VW to reject the car which they did.
