Ooh think I’m the first non-bot person! I’ve tried one and very nice it is, but not cheap anymore. The 85 edition version is perilously close to the £40,000 luxury car band and if you spec it up with a few options (which you will need to), you’re into paying £600+ a year VED.

Whilst Skoda are making great EV’s, they really aren’t the budget option in the VW group anymore and very crafty with making you pay more with the extensive options list.

Exactly, if you want it decently equipped it’s almost 50k EUR, good luck with that

I’ve driven both and they are quite different beasts on the road.
If I’m being honest with myself, I think the skoda feels a little bit better on the road if you’re a slightly more spirited driver. If you’re just a casual driver like myself and you just want to go from a to b, then EV3 is more comfortable.
Personally, I’m buying the EV3 in air spec as it’s all I need, and it has the best efficiency. Oh, and the 7-year 100,000 mile warranty is a winner.

We have an elroq 85, voice control for climate works really well. All round nice car, quiet, enough space in back for adults, suspension is very good.

Orange seat belts is cool. Shame there’s more colour.

Great review. I think the Elroq is the best looking EV so far and won’t date, design-wise, like the boxy Kia and others.

If you go for similar battery size, the mi/kWh is nearly the same as the EV3. Whereas the Elroq feels nicer inside and has greater front & rear passenger space. The EV3 has more included features for less money. Come the secondhand market, I suspect a spec’d up Elroq will be worth more than a similar EV3.

I kept waiting for the catch but then the video just ended! 😄 Even the ‘kinda negative’ was not really a negative, was it.

My 2 month review of the Elroq 60 Edition.
Comfortable, easy to drive, quiet, smooth although slightly stiff over bumps, quite efficient…around town with 20 mile journeys to adjacent towns in May. Approximately 4-4.3 miles per kwh.
Shorter town journeys have got over 5.
Instrument cluster, clear and easy to see. Infotainment system is good, but still prefer manual heating buttons/dials.
Seating has ample room, even for a 6ft guy.
Boot space is more than adequate, although I would probably prefer more, but there is the Enyaq for that.
All in all, the best car i have ever driven…largely due to being an EV. When I drive my partner’s ICE car, which i loved before i got the Elroq…well, I really miss the smoothness of the EV.

my only gripe against the Skodas is the efficiency…. in winter, we get about 3 miles per kwh… and that limits the range massively

please start doing some kind of Sound system and headlights test. Since we cant hear the sound test through YouTube, maybe have some kind of detailed score system for it.

Did a testdrive in an Elroq when on the hunt for my new company car.
Decent car, decent driving and seating experience, however where I am at it got quite expensive to lease even with minimal options. In the end we went for a Mercedes EQB 250+, on the face of it not even close to each other, but it’s lease payment is a lot more favourable and the driving and seating experience is not comparable at all in favor of the Merc.

Surprised no mention of the MGS5 as a rival.Near 300 mile range, similar space inside , similar boot space and performance, plus better equipped as standard? Plus 7 year warranty to equal the Kia

      @iffy700

Really nice car the MSG5 i went to the dealer to see it. But the AC charging max 7kW had put me off. As i will using a 11kW charger most of the time.

@@me-ju3fv That is your subjective and rather abrupt opinion. If the original poster determines that one is a necessity, that is surely their prerogative. Using “lol” doesn’t remove the nastiness of your response.

Good review – few disagreements – Road noise in Elroq 60 is significant compared to 85 edition. No way you can add DCC in sportline version, it is not available in UK (atleast not seen in configurator). Brakes are spongy and lighter steering. Otherwise a great car.

Thanks Doug for another great review. Undecided about the Skoda- they really need to do something about the 3 year warranty ( unless of course you fork out more money).
