    How does JLR continue to sell cars when most people complain about their reliability?

    Can they not fix these issues to make them more reliable? Considering how much even older models cost….

      People buying new don’t care as much, as they’re not out of pocket, coupled with the fact that the vast majority have no issues and it’s a wonderful product if you ignore reliability. It’s a status symbol. I definitely wouldn’t touch one with a barge pole but that’s me

      @tomhowroydmy dad worked there for 43 years and he said that a few ‘lemons’ let the reputation down. Most people have a problem free experience

      Look up What Car and MotorEasy warranty tables. The Evoque and Velar are dire, but the Velar is being replaced this year. The newer RR platforms have Japanese levels of reliability over 90%.

    Why are you recommending ingenium engines. They are known to have major faults particularly with timing chains and the massive costs of repairs. (Or are all Evoque engines ingenium?

      they all do this, look at the ford ecoboom and peugeot puresiht engines, they were singing praises about them long after it emerged they had a tendency to snap belts and expldoe

      It isnt an ingenium problem as such, its a diesel poblem, the petrol is also an ingenium and is reliable. DPF, EGR and short runs for little Johnny causes major issues on allllllll diesel cars

      The main problem is with the diesels being used as Chelsea tractors on short runs. Avoid low mileage used ones like the plague.

      Great review ! No no no ,dreadfull cars ,chocolate engines .pointless .*ts about time journalists returned to the 90s and challenged the manufactures with warranty and reliabilty figures . 44k, stupid insurance ,crazy dealers .These cars are usually driven by clowns returning to their circus 😂😂😂😂😂

      My parents owned a Discovery Sport with a 2.0 ingenium from new and did 88,000 miles in it. Never had a single problem. They kept up with all of the servicing. As long as you don’t neglect it then you should be fine! If your buying it pre owned look for full service history and any info about the timing chain being replaced

    I would much rather have a Lexus LBX Takumi over an Evoque, better reliability, not as expensive, and looks far better.

      The Ingenium petrols are pretty good and post 2020 diesel 2.0 not bad but like any diesel do lots of short runs along with a 21k oil change and it may suffer from various issues.

    The fact that people still buy these models with an unreliable engine and are expected to pay up to an extra 2 grand for extra paint shows how customers are too badge conscious and need to project a certain image to friends & neighbours.

    I was speaking to an AA technician who worked on the Land Rover contract for 3 years. He said the Evoque plug in hybrid was the most common JLR product he attended.
