Gorgeous! But for that huge battery, the range does not seem to be that impressive..

Around 155-160wh/km must be seen as pretty good for a 800HP car. And with the 350kW top charging speed you will never have to wait for the car. Even with ny Polestqr 2 and 205kW charging speed I almost never have to wait. I stop when I am hungry or need a bathroom, and when I am done I can keep going. Was a long time since I needed a stop because of the car.

Couldn’t agree more. So for £90k starting price, you’re going to say no to a Porsche Taycan/Audi E-Tron GT/BMW IX etc. Also the interior is so dull and uninspiring. Looks like a Volvo S40 inside but almost treble the price. Mental

    No rear window? Why?

It helps the design of the interior. But rear windows have been shrinking before EVs because a thing.

Keeps weight down. Allows more headroom as the crash bar can be moved back and no need for a wondow with you have a digital rear view mirror

In China they have 1 MW charging and several cars that can use all that power.

We have a lot of 350-400kW chargers in Sweden and even faster are beginning to pop up here now for all the trucks. So this will work really nice here. Just to bad it cost so much. 🙈🙈

For the same price as the Porsche would rather have the Porsche

simply stunning looking, Polestar did another amazing job with design, this 5 for me is the best looking EV to come out this year. Hope it will drive as well as it looks

At 2:13 you say flat to full charge from a home wall box charger will take 11 hours. That’s wrong surely, 108 kWh battery charging at 7 kW or 7.4 kW will take about 14 or 15 hours.
You also have the pricing completely wrong for the Performance edition you put up £142k, whereas Polestar website configurator says £105k

I have 11kw home charger, so it’s correct for me. But China is supporting Russia to unalive Europeans, so I won’t be buying a Chinese car any time soon.

Looks excellent! I was hoping this might be my first foray into the EV world but there are big downsides for me: small boot, lack of rear window

If you want stable, Tesla will be a safe bet. If you want to experience what EV can offer nowadays, go with BMW new IX3

Why is it so powerful? Who wants that or asked for it.
For a hypercar toy, yes lovely.
Saloon you take to work and Tesco, why?

Less power, more range. 350bhp would still be more than it needs and make it a much better car

Nobody needs 900 hp … but the 350 charging is nice

Considering how heavy it is with that 430 mile range battery, I can see how that power can be necessary. It looks like performance is not compromised.

  17. @michaelhastings7441 Avatar

What’s the point of 900hp just make the range longer and WTF is the back windowless thing all about come on it’s ridiculous !

So around 300 miles of range on a cold wet British winter day, then.

The polestar 5 is not competing against the taycan for customers. It just isn’t.
