    Looks dark inside, due to dark headliner and low roofline.

    I hope this model provides the turnaround Nissan so desperately need, they really are in big trouble financially. Needs to roll out very quickly.

      I don’t like cars that are designed with circular lights for the purpose of trying to make them look ‘cute’

      I really like this too! I’d have this over the R5 but not over the Inster.

      Come on… this car looks terrible. It’s like a disabled cousin of the Renault 5

      Renault is going to save Nissan again with a restyled Renault 5, a “N5” of sorts, with its round headlights, it’s like a Renault 5 for girls.
      In some ways, the Renault Group and the alliance with Nissan benefit from this, because commercially it becomes a variation on the same theme.

      They could at least put nissan steering wheel inside and not just a nissan badge on it🙄

      @@RichO1701e How is it a dad joke? It’s an observation. A Micra is supposed to be a small car, this isn’t a small car.

      It’s shorter than the previous Gen5 Micra, just a little wider and taller. But yes it’s bigger than the supermini Micra’s of old the new EV is copying styling clues from.

    Looks good and unusually similar to another car. Renault still has more cool factor maybe, owing to its brand and historical connection.

    I like the less retro focused styling on the interior of this one actually but the exterior of the 5 is borderline unmatchable this era in terms of identity and style.

  6. @SteelPorcupine Avatar

    It’s kinda disappointing that it’s so similar to the 5; I was assuming they’d go the retro route and make a k10 or k11 clone for the modern era.

    If I were Nissan I’d take the skateboard chassis and stick a modern take on the Pike factory cars onto it (Figaro, BE1 and Pao). They could use their heritage AND charge a premium for it.

    As it is, it’s a less likeable 5 with regen. Let’s hope they price it well enough to compete.

      I don’t think I would pay a “premium” for any car in this segment. They’re already expensive enough.

      @@philipcrossley1279people rarely pay cash for a car. So Lease and PCP ultimately determine price.

    Looks like the fiat 600 and R5 had a child. Sure it’s fine, but there really is no difference apart from the lights/rear.

    Will you have to shell out for heated seats & steering wheel?

      I have seated seats in one of my cars. Great for 30 seconds and then too much. In reality I never use them. Never had a heated steering wheel but do not see the point. Talk about wimpy.

      yes, but they need to do something better than old, ‘small’ hyundai kona. Kona had 64kwh battery and in cold europe is a bare minimum you should look for if you want ev for a city + a little more sometimes. Producing cars lower than Kona ‘high’ bar is quite… strange. All those gimmicks like squared roof top, 10 stalks, stiches, same interiors, shitty piano black is not necessary for praktical users and they only higher the cost of production. Rather than that I would like to have that 64-75 kwh battery for minumum 300-400 km in winter.

    I like the front and back light designs, cabin looks like a black hole, I hope a lighter interior is an option or a glass roof, but ultimately the R5 is the one that will sell.

  14. @mikadavies660 Avatar
    @mikadavies660

    I think it will come down to price…. If there was a simple R5 or Micra at the exact same price….. Then the R5 will massively outsell the Micra. So the Micra has to be cheaper.

    1. @mbak7801 Avatar
      @mbak7801

      They might be for a while after Nissan goes bust. In fact after a couple of years and spares dry up they could be massively cheaper.

    A near bankrupt company wants you to buy a new model car from them which is mostly lifted from another more successful model from a competitor. Are they mad? Why risk ending up with a car with little resale value as Nissan sinks and spares supply dry up? It just does not make sense. The Renault 5 is brilliant, just get one of those. At least Renault will still be around in five years.

    Nissan have destroyed their brand globally, specifically in the UK, this isn’t going to sell well at all. The last few generations of Micra seemed almost deliberately designed to put people off. The very last generation, on the surface a pretty good car, appealed to almost no one and I’d hazard a guess most people never knew it existed. Sticking a badge on other people’s cars is never a way to dig yourself out of a hole. Owning your own platforms, and designing them to appeal to as many people as possible is the way to avoid bankruptcy. Farewell Nissan, was good while it lasted. Shame

    Take the R5 every time. It has a history behind its look and the Micra just looks like a design copy when the Renault team weren’t looking.
