Oh Mazda, you were so close. The lack of dials, crappy buttons and auto only is a real let down.

Auto only really isn’t a downside. As someone who has driven the previous gen (current gen) with a manual the auto if far better.

Why are people so obsessed with manuals in a family car?? Good riddance to the manual.

yes agreed it would be good to have options. Personally for a big city SUV I dont think auto only is end of the world, but the lack of physcial buttons is a pain, always love the clicky mazda buttons, they always feel premium, now it is a touch screen just like in a BYD

@sorin_channel nobody buys manual SUVs especially ones that are aiming for a more premium market.

Theres a reason the CX60 doesnt have a manual option.

Getting rid of the volume knob and rotary controller are 2 big errors. They should have kept both and just added touch screen functionality.

15.6in touch screen with no physical controls? Is this for the Chinese market? I hope so because otherwise this is pretty disappointing and a hard no for me. Too bad because I like the slightly boxier profile

Chinese haven’t been buying Mazdas for a long time, plus ICE cars are on the out in China. So it would be an extraordinarily stupid decison to try can cater this car for the Chinese market.

Is mazda fans don’t like it but the boarder market has spoken. Yes the command knob is better than a pure touch screen. Yes a higher further screen is better for driving visibility. But the average consumer who never drove a Mazda won’t understand that from a glance or a test drive. I don’t like it but in all honesty this will very likely be a huge commercial success for Mazda

I disagree. If it’s done right it can be good. Good solutions offers voice commands that you can use for the common tasks like temperature adjustment, fan speed etc. Believe me I was sceptical before but after testing few cars I’ve changed my opinion.

As a CX 5 2023 owner, I look at this new CX5: cheap steering wheel buttons and integrated function touch screen, very unlike MAZDA. The next one will definitely be the CX60

The move away from physical buttons is really disappointing. I wish NCAP ratings had to take into account potential distractions behind the wheel. At motorway speeds you are covering over 100ft per second.
