    Australian reviewers haven’t been as impressed with this as they are with the EV3. It will be interesting to see your proper road test to see how it feels on UK roads.

      AU version is made in china and is powered by BYd batteries. EU version is made in Korea and powered by LG or SK batteries. similar range, but EU version should be lighter (smaler battery) and has more cargo space

    No physical button for climate control? What are them temp buttons under the screens?

      @cal_lywal

      Yep, they’re definitely climate control buttons for temperature and fan speed – but I don’t think there are physical controls for things like heated rear screen etc.

    I quite like it. Slightly frustrating the fast charging is not faster… immediately makes me want to wait for a refresh

      and the towing weight is also much to low at 1200 kg, two things that are a showstopper for me.

      Poor range, and poor charging speed just makes this car not worth it at all. They can’t make a car this bland. I really hope the next version will have 100 kWh battery and 800V. Then it will be competitive.

    Bigger EV3, KIA has another big sales success on their hands , looks good, Hyundai Group is doing just amazing job with their brands for the past few years. And their EV platform is for me one of the best in the game.
    Great video can’t wait to see first drive

    Does “What Car?” ask Hyundai/Kia about the ICCU failures on all of the E-GMP platform cars ? They are well overdue sorting this problem out. One that could leave people stranded without warning. Just came across a new Inster stopped in the middle of a busy road last night. Probably good that it was a local Hyundai agent driving it, rather than a young mum with kids in the back.

      no car channel ever talks about (dangerous) faults in their cars. they’ve been promoting Ford 1L and Stellantis 1.2L wetbelt engines that are prone to belt degradation and subsequent explosion for years. if they made consumers aware they wouldn’t be able to sell cars through their website and they wouldn’t get cars to review.

      There’s been no reported iccu failures in the Australian EV5’s. Mines 9 months and 12000k’s old no issues.

      @@enforcer41It’s weird how that goes – the Australian ones are built in China, so, wonder if the Chinese components are better than the Korean and European versions. There’s one for the books !!

    The flatness of those rear seats is pretty impressive tbh. Not sure how we’ve become so accepting of seats that don’t quite fold flat – that flatness is like something from a 2000s MPV. Nice.

    personally don’t like the front-end design – they’re getting more and more fussy + extreme with the lighting signature. Keep it simple

    I’ve got the awd Earth trim in Australia. It has a 88kwh battery and my long term average is 18.9 kwh/ 100. I live rurally and do quite a bit of running at 100k+.
    Will Do 400 on hwy and 500 around town.
    It’s really a nice car to drive and easy to live with and im fortunate that most of my charging is from excess solar.
