NEW Honda Super-N review – we’ve DRIVEN it!

In our first review of the new Honda Super-N, we support the wheel to see if this quirky, retro city electrical automobile is the ultimate little EV we have actually all been awaiting. Beginning at just ₤ 18,995, it costs roughly half the rate of the old Honda E. However with a small battery, limited variety and an even smaller boot, is it a wise spending plan buy or another predestined sales flop?

In this review, we inform you the good, the bad and the odd about the 2026 Honda Super-N. Based on a Japanese Kei automobile (the Honda N-ONE e), this European variation is somewhat bigger at just under 3.6 metres long, but it's still shorter than a Fiat 500e or Leapmotor T03,

We explore the Super-N's retro styling hints, including round front lights motivated by the Honda E and flared wheel arches straight off the renowned 1980s Honda City Turbo II. Inside, we take a look at the creative "Magic Seats" borrowed from the Honda Jazz, and evaluate the 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and standard 18-speaker Bose stereo.

We likewise take the Super-N out on the road to see how it drives. With just 63bhp in basic mode, 0-62mph takes a sluggish 14.5 seconds. However hit the purple Increase button on the guiding wheel and you unleash 94bhp to drop that time to 10 seconds flat!

Finally, we demonstrate its craziest function: paddles that replicate fake gear shifts, total with simulated shocks and a phony rev limiter.

Probably deprecates better than the BYD and has a more established dealer network.

@nicksokolis6343 I love the look of the Twingo but have zero confidence in it lasting.

I think it might be a while, I also want one, but it was expensive to manufacture, so we have to wait 🙁

The total width of this ‘tiny car’(including wing mirrors) is wider than the Honda E. Plus as mentioned it has a worse turning circle, slower 0-60, very similar range and no 360 camera. Other than the price and the rear magic seats it seems to be a big step back. Developed from an existing Japanese kei car model, it’s more desperation than inspiration.

I love it myself, soft spot for Kei cars even if the adjustments have made it not officially rule wise.
But seems like a good option for local driving.
I had an MG ZS that only did 150ish miles and managed just fine. Did i miss him mention the miles per KWH? Surely has to be good!

At less than £19k, Honda has finally priced a small electric car realistically! 🔋👏 It has plenty of quirks including a “Boost” button and fake gear shifts, but the 128-mile official range won’t be enough for some buyers.

If you were shopping for a sub-£20k EV today, where would your cash go?
    A) The Honda Super-N (I love the styling and the fake gearbox!) 💜
    B) The Renault Twingo (I’m happy to wait for the longer range) ⚡
    C) The BYD Dolphin Surf (It’s far more practical and smarter inside!) 🚗
    D) The Leapmotor T03 (It’s even cheaper and has a longer range) 🔋

Let us know your pick below! 👇

I’m most likely getting this. I work 50 km away with free charging available at work. It’s just what I needed for commuting.
It’s also the few small EVs with TWO backing lights (the reason why Inster was rejected), which I prefer as someone who is also a pedestrian living in a city with parking spaces designed to park front-inward.

They should put a drivetrain like this ( although, maybe with kinda more battery for range, rather then the sporting shenanigans ) in a Jazz.
That would be a great car…

The nose is the only place to put the charger. The sides don’t work. On my home charger, the cable would reach the left front wing or the nose but not the right front wing. You never know when a side will work or not. But the nose ALWAYS WORKS. So the nose is best. Or the rear maybe. But not the sides.

      @duncanmacarthur4711

If its on the nose or front wing then you will always be driving into the charging space, should be at the rear so you can drive out and I would prefer driver’s side rear wing so I can see it easily when reversing in.

Glad I bought one of the last VW e-UP’s which has 160 mile range and isn’t adorned with all the electronics of the latest smalll cars. I bought it new just under 2 years ago and still not covered 4,000 miles so is very much a local drive vehicle. Mileage does drop during the cold weather to approx. 100 miles but still more than acceptable for local / shopping trips.

I like it, it’s interesting though that the tech at this price point hasn’t changed in over 5 years. Our e-Up is almost identical spec for drive train, battery and charging speeds. The Honda has much better space arrangement though, if I were in the market for a new runabout I’d be very interested. 👍

City roundabout go-kart with a roof is here 😅⚡🤟⚡🤟 Honda still knows how to make fun cars, and Super-N is great example of it. I really hope that people living in cities get it will make streets so much better 😊😅.
Personally would love to see Honda bringing back just awesome looking E, keeping the design inside and outside as it was, just giving it properly good EV platform.
