That’s almost definitely uglier than the Tesla

That rear end window reminds me of the original Civic’s with that TV Screen window.

If it had Aston Martin or Lamborghini on the badge everyone would be saying “bold new design” or “striking new direction.”
Personally, yes it’s a bit odd but I don’t hate it and it’s design puts function ahead of form which is always the right way round in an SUV.

@@johnnybgood7812 not at all, I would pick a Honda jazz over a sports car any day, but this is plain ugly rear😅

An unusually bold design from Honda. Not sure about that rear end.

@@Brian-om2hh R5 is, in principle, not much different from the facelifted Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208, or Mini Cooper, not to mention Nissan Micra, so there are other small’ish hatchback EV options for a while now. However, none of them have the vibe of Honda E, inside or outside. This new Honda SUV seems to have that quirky futuristic originality on the outside, but the interior is that modern conventional that was popularised by Tesla and then the Chinese, with conventional seats and very cheap to design and manufacture (but, arguably, much more dangerous to use) screens instead of physical controls.

    3. @madmcadder4536 Avatar

Yeah the honda e was absolutely fantastic in design it was just technically bad as an EV. Fix that and it would sell in droves. This…this, isn’t going to end well for honda unfortunately

The front looked so promising… the rear completely killed it for me. Also, what the hell is the point of a ‘prototype’ car that they have no intention of making or selling? Surely it makes more sense to just make the actual car you’re going to sell and show that to the public.
