Cars are becoming as exciting as a washing machine. They are all the same and do the job effectively. Is this a good thing or a disaster depending on your point of view.

Up against the Skoda Elroq as well which would be much better for most people (cheaper by almost £10k for the 77kWh versions!!) The Ford is 20cm longer though. Do people really need such a giant-arse car? I guess I’m biased though, I got a Kia EV3. Fugly according to my wife but perfect size/comfort, 5 miles/kWh (390 miles 0-100% range) and easily under the £40k wealth tax.

Another company making cars worse whilst charging more. It is not acceptable to put climate controls in a touch screen and buttons on steering wheels always need to be real, separate physical buttons. Rest of the car is irrelevant if car manufacturers can’t do those two simple things and even if they did those things – the prices have gotten out of control.

Totally 100% disagree on the “Quality” of the interior. Horrible plastics, cheap switches, dreadful looking seats and bad suspension in a £60,000 car….. Look at one of these then look at a 1yr old Merc or BMW…. Decide for yourself where to put your money. Even the new Nissan Aryia has way way better fit and finish.

Another dud by Ford. This is really sad given its history over making great mass-market cars but a sign of a company currently struggling to adapt to a changing market.

Ford need a small car again to bring in entry level buyers, then they can sell this sort of stuff later on. Their strategy seems directionless, kinda like Tesla.

Why must everything be an SUV these days? UK roads and UK parking spaces are too small for these gigantic vehicles, and when they collide with pedestrians with their enormous raised front ends the results are catastrophic. They also have the aerodynamics of a house.

And as for the Capri name, I think Ford spectacularly misunderstand the point of bringing back a classic name. Renault get it, Fiat get it, Ford really don’t.
