    So, I get it, Dacia gave you a model to showcase, however 90% of sales are the 155 Journey which is better in every metric hence 90% of sales. They want people to at least consider this model because they have loads of them hanging around dealership but next to the 155 Journey is not appealing at all,hence large discounts on nearly new 140 extreme

    Being romanian🇷🇴 it brings joy to my heart to see that a romanian product such as Dacia, is appreciated in UK and world wide!❤ Brits enjoy our beloved DACIA car models! 😍

      What is “developed”? The body and interior? It uses a Renault platform, the engine, exchaust, gearbox etc is built by Renault or to Renault specs. It’s basically assembled in Romania. Like, say, Škoda in Czechia and SEAT in Spain, which are in real life mostly VW’s.

    Curious. The infotainment system isn’t laggy at all on other reviews. Is it updated? Check if it’s a hardware issue.

      @mwclarke

      I have the Bigster in a journey trim.
      I can confirm the infotainment can be a bit laggy. The example in this video (selecting the radio) occurs frequently. But, it’s something you get used to.
      The review doesn’t say, but it does have wireless android auto and carplay. This isn’t laggy when used.

      @@2Burgers_1Pizza I queried it when I picked it up. They said that was normal (it was similar in the test drive car we had) I’ve also checked for updates.
      It is an Android tablet underneath, and not a very powerful one.

      But, this takes away from everything else in the car, which is absolute joy and a bargain

      @@mwclarke I’ve seen some report connectivity issues with the Duster and certain phones, but these got resolved. Other than that, there was this one Duster review where the infotainment was acting up cause of a blown fuse. Again, this is unusual.

    Manual gear box, lots of space, bi-fuel huge range, great engine, cheap and funtional interior, very very low price. No doubt the best SUV in the market, well the Duster is also amazing and even cheaper! In France is sold out!

  8. @TheMaleforce Avatar
    @TheMaleforce

    I just sold my Sandaro and only lost 3k on it, ordered a Bigster extreme hybrid. They are predicting 67% retention of value at 3 years on the model I have ordered, more you spend on a car the more you will lose. Before Dacia I had a 50k BMW 4 series cab and it was faulty from day one, the Dacia never had a fault so don’t assume just cos you spent loads on a supposed quality car it is. Its good enough for me and my dog so to all the badge snobs, get a life.

  9. @sevensixtysteve Avatar
    @sevensixtysteve

    It’s such a silly name, it’s almost worth the price on its own. I think this is a great car of its type. Good value, with everything you need and nothing you don’t. Made in Europe as well – that should be supported.

  10. @urbanstrencan Avatar
    @urbanstrencan

    Looks good, but would love to see 7-seater version, and actually maybe the plug-in hybrid 4wd version. Bit yes still adorable, practical and big family SUV.

    1. @disarchitected Avatar
      @disarchitected

      They won’t do a 7 seat version. In this market Dacia analysed over 80% of sales were for 5 seaters. Creating a 7 seater would have raised prices for the whole range.

    2. @OnizukaGTO Avatar
      @OnizukaGTO

      Won’t Happen. A 7 seater would eat into the jogger segment. A 4×4 7 seater would be incredible.

    Honestly the 3 stars instead of 5 would draw me to this car. Every 5 star car I seen the active crash system have cause more distractions while driving then anything else

    1. @bojned Avatar
      @bojned

      This thing has some active safety (like emergency braking, lane departure, speed warning), but it is very easy to customize it and deactivate it on a double press of a physical button.

    2. @FructusSum Avatar
      @FructusSum

      @@bojnedthose I don’t have an issue with those ones. But they are one more them are the pain, or they all have the same beep noise for a warning for everything so you take you eyes off the road at the worse time to figure out what the hell is it beeping at. My new car has just the bare requirements for EU and the fatigue it gives out to me on the motorway for not putting in any steering input when we been driving in the straight line with our any need for input its bloody annoy.

      I have the lane departure in my mother car 5 star almost drive me into a bush, on a small country road when it found a white line (road was the width of the car) then it panic because of the bush it jerked towards and emergency braked. Also to turn it off is buried in a menu on the touch screen, so you not doing that with out pulling over but people will try anyway.

      It fairness to Dacia they have the one double you can turn off all safety features with a double tap. not about this car but the other was quick to find and adjust if you just want one feature off. Example I turn off the over speed warning when doing long motorway trips because I sent the cruise control based on the GPS speed. On short trips there is no point.

      The lack nonsense that interferes with driving was one of the things I pick Dacia for.

    3. @bojned Avatar
      @bojned

      @@FructusSumIt really is a no frills setup and something that Renault and Dacia do pretty well.

      As regards the car, what won me over was how torqy and elastic new 1.2 tce engine feels. Compared to VW 1.0 TSI, it’s so much less effort to get it going. I think the only car that has a better power train is Suzuki Vitara with their 1.4 booster jet, but they just look so dated to me.

    4. @disarchitected Avatar
      @disarchitected

      No boron steel safety cage in this car. Physical crash safety is also compromised vs more premium rivals. I’d never buy a Dacia for this reason.

      the problem with full hybrid is that 1.2 turbo MH is a lot cheaper and consumes just a bit more overall… 1.2 turbo actually consumes less if driving on the fast motorway.

      it shouldn’t put you off. Petrol drives much better, Yes, I had 3 cars with 1.5 DCi engine and now I have 1.2 MH Duster. 1.2 drives better. Diesel had one advantage: when driving 130 km/h it consumed a bit less, but that was the only advantage.

    wanted to buy the 2025 Karoq to replace my 2018 Karoq… and i was dissapointed by the quality of the interior, the rattles and squeaks from the trims, the chairs gave me back acke… my config was about 58.000 euro…. got to drive the Bigster as a test car from a showroom… instantly ordered it … its a no nonsense car with what you need and comfortable… now waiting for my Hybrid 155 Extreme to arrive . Never going to buy the “badge and brand” of a car. Happy to make the switch.
