    What the hell is wrong with the manufacturers that they keep trying to force no dials and buttons on a buying public that doesn’t want those things. Surely the tiny extra cost is better than having to discount the cars far more, to sell them. At least a German brand did a few things right this time, that thin display seems useful but overall, far too much crap in one screen, no temp or volume dials and I can already see through screen build quality is miles off how well a car was built a decade ago. Honestly at this point, all the German brands get a ‘not even going to consider’, and certainly not for a premium over other brands, it’s sad to see tbh.

    “Lovely leathers”? You mean vinyl… it’s called “Veganza” which is vegan leather. Another cost cutting move under the illusion of sustainability. How can you call it a “nice place to be” with scratchy plastics everywhere… Go and sit in the old one.

    I work for Audi and I can say that if BMW keeps bringing these cars out we are screwed. Modern, posh and the range is absolutely crazy.

      I’m afraid Audi have ‘lost it’ when it comes to interiors – piano black everywhere in the A5. BMW have taken a step passing Audi in this area.

    Don’t understand the price comparison with a Tesla model Y as Tesla isn’t a premium brand in my book. But great modern looking car with more clean lines than the previous version.

    If you have made the decision to buy a pure EV, why would anyone pay more to buy a ‘premium’ brand?
    Even Porsche EV”s don’t retain their value.
    Complete waste of money.

    So, to get “500 mile range” in the iX3, BMW stuck a super larger battery (e.g. 113 kWh) in a car similar in size to the Model Y? Sounds like what the Chinese EV makers do to get more range. Not a smart strategy. Wonder what the efficiency is?

    Nice car to get on a 3 year lease but when the warranty runs out it could cost a fortune to fix just one of those horrible door handles.

    The design is certainly an improvement on the previous gen although it does have more than a hint of the visor styling from Vauxhall/Opel. The steering wheel is crass and tasteless to me and the rear lights comically large. I don’t like SUVs in general and this car does nothing to change that but if it gets anywhere near the quoted range, that will be impressive. It will be interesting to see this design language on a saloon – I would just have to fit an aftermarket steering wheel.
