    Seems good. I still much prefer the front styling of the original. But seems like a good car

      Same here, the original seems more aggresive to me, and i like it!

      It’s the headlights that I prefer on the original… The “mouth” design could be better on both by my tastes. I mean it’s a stylish design overall anyway though so swings and roundabouts

    They should have been trying to get it under 40k

      the government should change the threshold in my opinion. seems like every ev car costs over £40k nowadays

    If I was buying now I would probably buy the Elroq BUT I *love* the crystal face on my late 94 Enyaq

    Enjoying the cinematography as much as the review itself. How did you find locations with no other cars on the roads and no people in the villages? Spooky.

    Tell someone at Skoda you don’t need an ice scraper in an ev.

      Well I do…. 3AM urgent callouts in January don’t give me time for preheat… I rely on a windscreen cover, deicer fluid and a scrapper! Need to get off the drive in under a minute. 🚒

      @@geralddavison I have a Megane E-Tech and I activate manually, in 5 mins the cars ready (by the time I go to the toilet & put shoes on). Haven’t tested at 3am but done it many times at 7am

      @geralddavison

      @tureq85 sadly I’m expected to get out of bed, jump into clothes laid out carefully, boots on and out the door. I don’t even have 5 minutes. I’m normally (on a non freezing night) at the fire station in about 4 minutes from my pager going off. Deicing can add a minute.

    3:45 It’s heated and ventilation, so you might want the seat to be warm but you still want airflow move the heat further out into the cabin.

    1. @tureq85 Avatar
      @tureq85

      by ventilated they mean cooled, three settings just like for heated seats so it’s counterproductive isn’t?

    2. @TChighbury Avatar
      @TChighbury

      @tureq85  No they don’t, people presume ventilation is cooling because without the heater on it just blows air, but there’s no refrigeration involved. Hence why on quite a lot of cars, particularly hybrid or electric due to seat heating being the most efficient way to warm the passenger, you can activate both.

    3. @tureq85 Avatar
      @tureq85

      @@TChighbury didn’t know that, thanks. so three settings refer to fan speed then?

    4. @TChighbury Avatar
      @TChighbury

      @@tureq85 Correct, the fan is usually in the back of the seatrest and brushless for quiet operation

    I hear what you’re saying on how expensive the Enyaq is. Back in 2021 I looked at all the MEB cars (Q4, Enyaq and ID4) and surprisingly the Enyaq was the most expensive of the three to lease when you specced it up to something decent.

    Fast forward and I’m due order a new company car in a few months and it’s again the most expensive of the three. I did like the car when I drove it and I’m sure this revised version is great, but if it continues to be so expensive to lease I’m not going to be able to consider it again.

    Of course, there’s the Elroq now and I’ll have a look at that, but the space of the Enyaq would be nicer!

    1. @nicemimomisu Avatar
      @nicemimomisu

      I think that really is on purpose though. If you need the extra, they got a solution but Elroq will fill most of the needs of many. Enyaq will sell less but it really feels like that was the point.

    You made an error on the power outputs when the text comes up on the screen. The 85X has 286bhp (not 201bhp) but has a higher torque figure than the 2 wheeled drive version.
    501 lb ft versus 402 lb ft
    So, the 4 wheel drive version will definitely feel punchier, for example 40mph to 70mph, accelerating onto motorways or exiting corners when driving in a spirited way!

      while they made mistake of copy-pasting 85x with 60 data. Skoda insists (in the official tech spec brochures) that 85 and 85x are equal for PS, total kW output, and 0-60. so not sure who is wrong (with an exception for the obvious typo)

    Škoda knocking it out of the park once again. Please though remember to tell viewers the battery chemistry – this is important to those trying to make more ethical choices and those who want to know if they can regularly charge to 100% to take better advantage of the quoted range.

    We chose the Elroq over the Enyaq and unless you really need the boot space, passenger space is virtually identical. Just a big saving being the only real difference. Either way, great quality and puts most other car companies to shame, I’d even argue a nicer finish than some premium brands and a real step forward coming from the Karoq.

    messing up matrix lamps with DRL, then calling ventilated seats cooled seats.. new standards of journalism I see. 3:50 there is a perfect and well known application. like British weather, you are cold and wet. you want to get warmer (via heater seats) and remove the moisture from your cloths (ventilation). other application is a case of gym lovers, you want to stay warm while reducing the sweating.
    ventilated seats are not the same as cooled seats. former are just connected to fans system, latter also to HVAC system to push cold air from AC system.

  17. @appkazoo5925 Avatar
    @appkazoo5925

    It is very odd pricing. The only real difference between the Elroq and the Enyaq is the boot size so I ‘m not sure the extra cost would be worth it unless you need 585 litres a lot of the time.

    And “good deals” don’t affect your liability for the luxury VED. Its based on list price. So a list price under £40k is going to save you several thousand pounds over a list of £41k which you got a deal on to bring it down to £39k.
    Buyer beware.
    That couple of grand is likely to affect the 2nd hand price too.
    If I was in the market for a used car, I’d walk away from someone whoch would land me with a large VED bill for a couple of years.
