That ‘zombie mode’ has happened to me in my MG4 twice, Mike. Really odd.

Mike, I’m sure I’ve just had an update on our ioniq5 where the android auto should now be wireless, not that I’ve managed to connect it yet 🤷🏼‍♂️

17:10 I wouldn’t buy from a new (to the UK) company. It just takes time to get places which can service them, which in turn makes them more expensive to insure and fix. And if not enough people by them the whole thing disappears.

My insurance quote was fifty percent more but after shopping around I ended up paying less than last year by quite a margin. I currently have an eleven year old SLK and not an EV. I insured it a month before my expiry date.

Some high mileage Konas develop a noisy problem with the reduction gear, because apparently Hyundai neglected to schedule any sort of oil change.
Perceived wisdom says, change oil and add magnetic drain plug.
Maybe the Leaf has a similar problem.

Could you please let us know what the strange noise from your leaf turns out to be. I think it’s gonna be a piece of plastic trapped somewhere underneath flapping against the body.

About 21 days before your insurance is due are you likely to get the best quotes IIRC.

I think someone will buy the assets from Fisker, as much for the platform as anything else and they’ll likely have the software, but it might be update via USB rather than OTA.
In terms of new brands that fail to gain traction in the UK and leave fairly quickly, if it’s a Geely or Cherry brand I think their other brands might pick up the work for parts and warranty jobs. If it was a brand without that large group behind it, then it could go the way of that van Tom mentioned, and I’d be wary of them.

👍 Ha, my favorite EV program. Thanks for the fun and info.
Yesterday we had a test ride in a BYD Design. What a great car, the power, the LFP battery, and all the luxury, and specially that Panorama roof that can be closed.
Sadly, with €37.000 a bit over our budget. But we want an EV with open roof or pano- roof. (but in Germany there already are some used design versions for €29.000)
We will have some more tests in the Citroën ë-C3 when it is available in the Netherlands.
The Skoda Epiq looks promising with the LFP battery and pano roof.

@Tom… When I was 5 years old, I put a playing card on the rear wheel of my Raleigh Chopper to make a motorbike noise, maybe check if one of your neighbours has modded your Leaf. 😂

Seriously I think your tyre is rubbing on something in the wheelarch.

The zombie mode happens when you preheat the car and it hasn’t completed the action

The noise on Toms car may be tyre related. I had a tyre where the casing had gone inside the tyre which made the tyre slightly oval, nd only made a noise above 30 mph. It could be worth having the tyre checked, particularly if you’ve hit a pothole recently.

Check for a loose bit of plastic underbody trim on your Leaf.
