I believe the Australian saying as along the lines of “Buy a Range Rover if you want to get there, buy a Toyota if you want to get back.”

I think the battery swapping is to deal with the false arguments about battery life and range that used to be an issue with early Leafs but is very rare now.

Letting a visitor use your EV charging point just seems good manners. There are still some parts of the UK where that is the only way the visitor will get a charge.

I have just installed some battery capacity to buffer our PV and wind* so being able to use the car(s) as home battery backup really would be a game changer for me and would obviate the need to install more battery capacity.

I have yet to use the public charging network, but that is why I will run a PHEV for at least the next three years. Our public charging network is still not ready.

*You might want to review New World Wind’s range of domestic Wind bushes and wind trees. They look good and fit a domestic setting.

On AirBnB owners and charging, I stayed at a wonderful place in October/November where they offered use of their Zappi 3-phase charger. All they asked was to let them know when we wanted a charge and they’d invoice at a reasonable rate (cost +5p/kWh). It was cheaper than a Tesla supercharger and more convenient for days with longer excursions. It made the holiday in an area a bit devoid of public charging a lot more relaxing and made them a little extra profit. Honestly if I were an AirBnB host I’d see offering charging as an opportunity (as long as not 3 pin charging) because EV owners will be preferring places to stay with destination charging over places that don’t.

I always thought the Honda Eny1 was pronounced Anyone. Maybe it isn’t, but once I saw it, I can’t unsee it. 😀

Regards the attention sensor, it was going off when the steering wheel was turned & the spokes blocked it, it rarely does that now. As far as the fox is concerned, I don’t pay it any attention – I’m using CarPlay more since the latest OTA update!

It would be great if unreliable chargers were replaced, but I’d prefer them to be removed if this isn’t an option. That sets expectation that the charger won’t be there or available, rather than a will it / won’t it.

Thank you guys! And Mike, that was some nice italian!
I love cars and search for interesting car content all over youtube, I think you do a great job.
    That was an interesting answer!
Car markers seem quite ready with V2H and V2G, so that’s on the grid now…
I’m sad to hear that even in the UK you are only at trial stage, but I’m hopeful for the future. In your Country the grid seems already quite advanced, coping with all that fluctuating renewables, so maybe you will get there before us in Italy, but eventually this will be done everywhere, it’s just so obviously useful.
Merry Xmas to all the team!

Why can’t we just pay with a credit card. Imagine if you had to have all different apps to pay for your petrol at different stations.
