The UK MUST stick to the 2030 date for the ban of sales of new ICE cars. The UK must remain an example of how to act decently in a corrupt World. We don’t make many cars here so who ‘suffers’? Salespeople? That would be a good thing!

Have the team ever considered doing an episode on the reliability of ev’s (both new and second hand)? I think this could help people who are thinking of moving to an ev in future or existing ev driver’s who may be considering purchasing another ev. As always the team produce a varied look at ev’s and the ev industry as a whole. Thank you all very much.

Charging network, Gridserve. Seriously, with their rip off prices?

Better get that iX3 order in soon, they apparently have almost sold out the 2026 production capacity

So your car of the year is the BMW IX3 which starts at nearly £59k and will attract the luxury car tax (even at its increased level). Not exactly a car for the masses, is it?

wrt to door handles, look at the VW Range, the ID7 has proper recessed ones that are flushed but you have a place to pull them with your hand with ease.
When you look at the saving in range for flush it is pretty petty as the difference will be minor compared to driving more sensibly or tunring down the climate control 0.5° in the winter !

Maybe they were just destroying a Tesla. They don’t do that with any other brands ?

The problem with the EU backing away from it’s ICE ban is not the change to 90%, it’s the fact that no one now has any confidence that, under the lobbying that will obviously continue, they will not shift to 70% or even 50%. This will damage investment in things like charging networks.

I agree that EV’s are going to grow massively now that more people own them and word will be getting out to all the misinformed people that they work well and do not burst into flames!
It would be nice if the UK Government actually sticks to the 2030 ban as it is clearer than the EU’s version.

The Elroq was beaten by the EV3 for World Car of the year last year. How is it a contender for European Car of the year this year?

Thank you very much for clarifying what is meant by 90% zero emissions in the recent EU statement. I’ve read at least four different interpretations so far. It makes sense if these 10% combustions cars are the “high end” manufacturers as the price of the biofuels is only going to be affordable to very wealthy people and F1 teams. Keep up the good work and great to have another edition of Kilowatt half hour.

Re overpowered AWD cars, as you may remember I am looking for a small AWD car which will replace one of our Suzi’s, I had thought the E-Vitara with a ‘modest’ power output and Suzuki’s AWD heritage would be a front runner, but it is flawed in many ways, the EX30 might look good, but is just overpriced rubbish, so that still leaves the Smart #1 Brabus as the front runner, whilst Brabus mode will make it stupidly fast, put it in comfort mode and it’s perfectly fine.
p.s. waiting on the EV3 AWD to see what that’s like.

Although evs travel on rubber tyres so they can’t earth when in a crash 🤪 couldn’t they carry also a big rubber mat in the boot to assist this so they don’t catch fire or even a battery dry sprinkler system 😂😂😂😂😂 , Happy Christmas all and carry on the great reporting ☃️🎄🎄☃️❄️❄️☃️
