A comparison on manufacturers warranty and real life experiences would be a great video.

Interesting to hear your range discussion in cities. It’s my impression from years of EV driving that the worst behaviour with regards to range is city driving where you do many short journeys (like a health visitor or care assistant) particularly in the winter and absent a heat pump. Too much energy used just heating the car!

On charging. I’ve recently started running an EV and it’s noticeable how neglected AC public chargers are. Occurred to me that, given 99% of UK homes will never be able to charge at more than 7.5kw, having larger on-board chargers is a waste. But charging at 7kw isn’t much use unless you can leave a car all day or overnight. Like wise, if you are parking to go shopping or go to the cinema etc , 200kW+ charging is unnecessary. I’d like to see banks of circa 20kW DC chargers (you could put in 10 or 15 for the same electrical infrastructure of a fast charger) in places where people park for up to a few hours at a time.

People could get a meaningful charge in the time they do a weekly shop, or go to the gym. Every car would be able to use it. I suspect the overheads would be significantly less and prices could be more competitive with home charging.

I’ve just bought a Rwd Polestar 2. Now it’s warmer I’m getting over four miles per kWh.

For the Kia/Hyundai theft issue, the main problem seems to be the keyless entry aspect. You can defeat that by holding the lock and unlock buttons down at the same time until the flashers go four times. This make them less easy to jump in and steal. Personally I’ve never been a fan of keyless entry anyway….

ID3 is not a luxury car, it’s just an expensive car.

Any thoughts on MG warranty? I have seen some very mixed comments. I like the look of the MGS5 but have have Kias for the past 15 years.

I got a 4 month old Toyota bZ4x for a cracking price and have found it more efficient than motoring reports/reviews have suggested. For an example I drove four of us from Stoke to Coventry and back for a football match and the efficiency was over 4.2 miles per kw/hr and at motorway speeds. Plus there is the huge benefit of up to 10years warranty which also includes the battery.

I found the same, and the Stoke dealer is the best for service and the way one is treated.

Trifecta is where you get the first three finishers in a horse race correctly. Tribeca was a Subaru

I was given an aventine for 2 weeks as they tried to sell me one, I loved it but after 3 days the drivers window fell into the bottom of the door, they could not fix it so I was given a velsatis for the remainder of the test. Did not buy either.

I think a good comparison is the best you can get for say £30k so that would allow better spec, vs lower spec more expensive. A realistic method as peoplewill have a limit. Also including as you said lease prices could be an extra as it would mix up the cars even more.

I ordered an ID7 which was due for March delivery, before the car tax change. It’s been delayed so that’s the luxury car tax hit because of a production delay! I ordered it on a personal lease which includes VED. Volkswagen are going to pay the increased VED. If I had taken it on a PCP, I doubt they would have covered the VED.

I’m a first 1000 MG ZS EV Trophy buyer, £3500 gov grant and £3500 MG discount so £22k for cash. Now 5 years on considering the MG S5 as an upgrade, but no pano roof or sunroof, why?
