And when we do go over cars, we learn a lot. From market chatter to the more ordinary functionalities of electric cars and truck ownership, it's the location where we dish the dirt on the vehicles we've been driving and provide our own decisions on the latest electric car news. We also like to have a great make fun of the daftest littles anti-electric news that we've seen in journalism.

We can't promise that you'll learn much. You probably will not. However if you fancy 30 minutes of idle chat and chatter about the world of electric cars, we're here for you. If you like it/ dislike it/ think it's too long or too brief, let us know.

I’m a spreadsheet guy and I had a Hypervolt installed in March. Still driving a 2011 Panda so haven’t used it yet, but it’s good to be prepared!

Officially because AC current induces a heating effect, you should unravel the charge cable. Same with mains extension cables.

When looking at cars (which I still am looking), I found out that the BYD ATTO2 has their 12v under the rear seats, but via an access flap rather than pulling up the whole seat. I watch the engineer trying to gain access to show me, and it was not that easy.

But I also looked at the Geely EX5, and apparently the 12v is behind the centre console, who knows how to access that? And to boot, there was loads of room under the bonnet to place the 12v.

I got me first EV in Feb this year a Mercedes EQC, love the car and the app just works really wll 98%of the time. In regards to my dealer experience my local Mercedes dealer was brilliant, as orignally I was going to buy a used GLC diesel to update my previous one, but said did I want to have a go in the EQC, explained it really well and told me to go for a drive for a couple hours, and instantly loved it. Love the Podcast and the team. Keep up the fantastic Work

Great pod ladies! Interesting feature on good and bad dealers. With the recent surge in BEV sales, the number of people I’ve met at public chargers who have had little or no guidance on how or where or when to charge their cars. As an electric advocate since 2017 I’m seriously thinking of offering my services as an ambassador to some of the more customer focussed Chinese brands rather than the mere metal movers. Keep up the good work. Regards Brendan McHale (Mac Hooligan)

Thank you for reading my question about unreeling the EV charging cable. Well done to Nicola for pronouncing my name correctly. As for spreadsheets, that’s my wife’s expertise. Clearly I must have absorbed something by osmosis. Interesting and entertaining video as usual. Thank you. 👍

The first thing I did when I got my Polestar 2 was to set the app up. I used to be a programmer though so I quite like tech. Amusing the way you are both more enthusiastic about fit actors than setting your apps up.

    Hi Ginny,

I’m definitely an app person. Loved the convenience with kia of setting pre- heating and departure times from my bed. Also loved being able to lock and unlock the car from the app, and getting reminders if the Mrs had left it unlocked by mistake.

On the other hand, with a used cupra they wanted to charge per user for their app, and since I’m going to trade it in, I’m not going to bother. Charging for the use of an app is wild.

Car Apps – I have two brilliant Apps, Mini Connected for my Mini Countryman SE and the other excellent one is for my fossil Land Rover Defender which is quite as comprehensive as it doesn’t have a built in route planner like the Mini Connected app .

I’ve bought a metal roofed Renault 4 Iconic+. The car has just arrived at the dealer, they’re giving it the PDI this week and I’m picking it up next Saturday. I did consider buying the Plein Sud but was told it would be October before I had it. Given I own a 2CV and a 1932 Morris Minor Open-Two-Seater, I’m more than happy to have one car with a metal roof and it means I get behind the wheel of my very first electric car a lot sooner.

Nice to hear the Renault 4 getting some love. I’m 3 weeks into a first time lease and first time EV in the Renault 4. It’s a brilliant car, especially for the money. But for some reason you just never see them on the roads. Plenty of 5s but no 4s.
