I want one. The K4 and EV4 hatchback both look amazing

Buy it before 31st of March then to avoid the additional £3,000 the government will want off you in ‘licensing’ over the next 5 years.

The hatchback depends on what spec you chose. Top spec has folding table and slide out table. Rear quarter window should be angled rather than straight as it may hinder rear visibility

    The hatch is absolutely perfect!!

I think both look fantastic on video. May of course look different in the metal. The saloon boot opening is a bit odd and impractical.

Absolutely love the Ev4 saloon! Great to see new designs that make cars look modern and futuristic, and not following staid old design tropes. It’s something that Kia and Hyundai are doing very well .

The saloon is such a bold design, I love it!

I really don’t like it, but I do like the hatchback – there’s the Marmite factor

Great to see some aerodynamic boldness.

There’s a difference between being fresh and being obnoxious. The rear of the EV4 is obnoxiously over-styled. The hatchback looks modern and balanced at the same time. This lady has a great design sense.

Wow. They got the saloon boot totally wrong. It should be hinging at the top of the glass.

the hatchback backend is way more palatable (balanced, fitting) than the backend of the saloon (omg!) 😅

I think they should have done the saloon as a hatch and the hatch as an estate.

Tadata datataaaaaa…. yes, saloon as a liftback, and the hatchback stretched as an estate!

Just imagine they did EV4 Estate and EV4 Hatchback. That would of been BANGER
Including the following: 40/20/40 rear seat, shopping hooks in the rear and center armrest thingy only available with the cubby spaces and ditching the tray thingy.

1:37 So interesting. Jack on fully charged hates the hatch loves the saloon. Which says to me, Kia nailed this design. They’ve made a car to fit multiple tastes and is a little divisive. What more can you want in a car?

Nothing wrong with having different vehicles vying for the same buyer – otherwise you end up in Ford’s “every single person on the planet is American and wants SUVs/pickup trucks/Mustang” mistake, and folk who just want a Fiesta or Focus going elsewhere.

Divisive design means people can pick their preference. Kia:s cleverness is in keeping the majority of the two EV4s identical, hence the same wheelbase.

Could do with quoting the standard version range more often – cheaper, lighter, likely faster given the same motor, and the charging time for each version too, which in this case are probably the same.

Anyway, time to take a breather after this carnival of Kias – they do pack ’em in!

The hatch looks a bit like the EV6 has been in the wash…..but I like it!

It’s a real pity they didn’t make the saloon a lift back sport back type thing… And get the proportions just a bit more right… That ‘consequences’ analogy is bang on hahah

I prefer the look of the saloon, I just wish it was a fastback/lift back.

Same. That “mail slot” style trunk lid is infurating. Having to much space, yet likely not fitting a 20″ cube box through is maddening.

      Hatchback is always more practical….

I quite like the saloon, new and fresh design rather than some of boring box ticking design we’ve had out of other manufacturers

After seeing the current BMW 5 – nothing surprises me anymore. That trunk opening on the saloon is diabolical ( could it really not have been a liftback?).

The biggest mistake Kia keep making is not having a panoramic roof, it would transform the passenger experience in the back which is often claustrophobic with a dark interior…..

Hatch is cool; sedan is….well, you know what, respect to Kia for trying different things and committing to standing out and shaking up traditional design cues.

I have a feeling that whoever designed the saloon has been researching fastbacks and not quite understood the concept.

Sorry but it looks like they’ve taken an Ioniq 6 and said “how ugly do you think it’s possible to make it?”
