Nicola Hume takes the brand-new Škoda Elroq vRS for a spin in this full roadway test and evaluation– and let's simply say it's a bit quicker than you may get out of a family-friendly electrical SUV. In reality, it's quicker off the line than a ₤ 150,000 Fabia R5 rally car. Yes, actually.

The Elroq is one of our favourites here at Electrifying.com thanks to its smart usage of area, tidy handling, and strong variety– however this brand-new vRS variation brings a sharper edge. With twin motors, 340bhp, four-wheel drive and a large boost in power, the Elroq vRS shows that practical doesn't need to imply uninteresting.

Nicola explores whether the additional efficiency equates to real-world enjoyable, and how it accumulates for families who still desire something with a bit of trigger. Is it still effective? Does it feel like a correct vRS? And what's it like to drive every day?

    Sounds like fun Q car but a sunroof would be great and have the option of a lighter interior. Oh did it have a frunk?

      No – they don’t have a frunk – but they are available aftermarket for around 150quid.

    I really love what Škoda has done with the Elroq vRS, especially this green color is simply awesome 🤩🤟🤟⚡
    I like the subtle design changes making it more aggressive looking and that they did some proper upgrades to the EV powertrain and suspension. The only thing not to like is that Škoda is not making the electric Fabia vRS hothatch 😅😅.
    Great review keep it up 🤟⚡⚡⚡

    That range makes this a great long-distance car. And, yes, the V2L is a big omission – especially seeing as the “lowly” R4 EV has it!
    @1:37 – those are the DRLs (as seen in the clip at the end when you’re driving away @16:35 !) – the matrix headlights are the “prismy” lenses below the DRLs. So there !

    To me it seems that Skoda is becoming the European equivalent of the Koreans. Creative intelligence and an understanding of what fun the driver wants. How long before they are spun off from the corporate dinosaur of AudiVW?

      Why would they do it? Being part of VAG give them acces to MEB platform and they also produce MEB batteries for rest of the group. VAG is probably better in long term planning, Skoda is better in actual model design and optimalisation.

    With the helmet, you look cool like Eliška Junková, a Czech car racing legend of the 1920s. Find something on the Internet. She was lucky to get into some Bugatti and Mercedes soon, worked as a mechanic of her husband, but he had a wrist injury so she became the racer instead, and holy cow, it worked great. Jaromír Ježek largely composed the Bugatti Step for her.

    😂😂😂😂
    The Title should be Alison’s shenanigans with Nicola.
    Just press the buttons.
    Nicola should review every thing.
    Like Scale Diecast cars,
    quirky motorcycles like honda Motocompo, Honda monkey, Honda Cub,
    Fast 2 stroke scooters,

    @6:47 she said it! Why oh why couldn’t Škoda give it a panoramic glass sunroof???

    1. @XENONEZZ2 Avatar
      @XENONEZZ2

      Why..? …my guess….increased chassis flex and the extra weight of a sunroof = reduced driving pleasure…..plus it’s one less area to leak water.

      Added weight. I prefer not to have a sunroof and instead have the light headliner of the non sport models.

    You drove on what looks like the smoothest road in the UK. With the sportiest suspension setting. No complaints about the ride. What about the ride on the dodgy potholed roads most of us drive on? How comfortable is the “comfort” end of the scale?

      I live in the uk
      Gonna have to disagree with u,
      I’ve seen and driven on roads 10x worse that that one in my skids Octavia, the rides pretty good if you drive slowly like the cars designed for

      I’ve driven the Elroq on the passive shocks on 20inch wheels , very good I have to say

    Great colour, great car. My favourite still is the Skoda Enyaq Coupe RS in Mamba green.
    Too bad this Elroq doesn’t come with a heatpump as standard. If you check some of the options it becomes an expensive car.

    A very entertaining and honest review. I’d go as far as to say you’re the best car reviewer from Electrifying, although all of you do amazing. How you all bring a little comedy into it too. Brilliant work 👍👍

    I’ve got a Sportline 85X Enyaq, and that is fast enough. I love it and I’ll certainly look at the Elroq next time.

    Bet there’s a sequence left on the editing room, where the rally driver is Nicola’s passenger while she’s driving the road car around B roads, and he’s going “asaaghghghghhggghghhgghhg!”
    😂😂😂

    I’ve got an Elroq 60 Sportline and I love it, but I totally agree about the lack of a panny roof. It is darker in the back compared to the lighter colours of the lower trim levels.

  19. @marki3810 Avatar
    @marki3810

    Had a look at one and really liked it but it’s very dark inside feeling a bit closed in. No option of a sunroof to lighten it up…. I understand the Elroq is built on the same platform as the Enyaq which can be had with a sunroof. Shame as I would have considered getting one but won’t at the moment
