FIRST DRIVE: MINI Aceman – Our new favourite superhero? | Electrifying

FULL REVIEW:

The takes a bit of the Fellow citizen's SUV styling, and applies it to a compact hatchback that makes it the ideal alternative for anybody who likes the three-door-only electrical MINI but requires a bit more usefulness. However there's a lot of competition at this rate, ranging from five-door hatches like the Renault 5 E-Tech and Peugeot e-208 to bigger alternatives like the Kia 3.

The Aceman fragments its platform and drivetrain bits with the , which implies an option of either 38.5 kWh li-ion NMC battery in the entry-level Aceman E, or 49.2 kWh in the Aceman SE, for a WLTP series of approximately 185- or 252 miles respectively. Those are the functional battery capacities, too, so you can work out how much a complete charge would cost using those figures. If you're paying 20p per kWh then it 'd be ₤ 9.84 for a full charge in the SE, for instance, or ₤ 4.43 if you're paying an overnight tariff of 9p per kWh.

When it comes to real-world range, I managed 3.8 miles/kWh (which is mpg for electrical ) on a warm day and in different conditions in the Aceman SE on 19-inch wheels, which is equivalent to just over 180 miles of variety. We have not hung around in the Aceman in the UK, yet, however on that basis I 'd anticipate the SE to manage 160- to 210 miles of variety depending upon conditions, while the E will most likely do around 120– to 160 miles. You also get a heat pump as basic, which ought to assist with cold weather efficiency.

She deserves an Oscar for the line “cause sat in the interior of the Volvo is like being sat in a naked prison cell isn’t? 😂

Far better than the previous 5 door mini. I like it. Not a huge fan of the front, but, that’s a nice car

So, poor range, slow charging, and expensive, I’d rather have a Renault 5

sadly the range is poor, otherwise I would have loved this car, perfect size, and it looks awesome.

Like that its only 1.75m wide and 4.07m long. Old UK garages and multistorey car parks should be a doddle, but it can still fit four 6 footers.

I like Mini’s new interior designs, like the use of fabrics and layout etc, however, where they have used plastics, they have used the flimsiest and cheapest feelings plastics they could find, I am happy with use of plastics much easier to keep and family-friendly, however, for the price point, they should feel a little less like they were made in someone’s basement on a 3d printer.

I don’t think any of MINI’s new models matches its predecessors. I also think the removal of the Clubman (and replaced by this) is a huge shame!

I was excited about the Aceman as we have a Clubman and would like to go electric but I’m disappointed. Expensive, not very pretty, and doesn’t challenge its competitors in any meaningful way. No more MINIs for us I think.

I’m Chinese and this car looks like an early 2010s Chinese knock-off of a MINI (except interior, which is wonderful)

The question that instantly popped into my head upon first glance of the Aceman, “Those are some massive rear fender bolsters.” Love the look. Hate the impracticality. So I was really hoping that once the boot was opened, I’d see that volume made available. Sadly, no. Personally, I’d love to know what the enclosed volume is between the boot inner wall and the fender. It looks to be quite large. Pity it’s completely unusable.

    Nice video.
    Underwelming car.
If you like this, I think you should consider a Renault 4.
Mini Aceman vs Volvo EX30 vs Renault R4, a comparison video is needed! 😊
