    Was good banter between the two of them not that Nic needs anyone.

      Each to his own but I find the childish jokes, funny voices and gurning detract massively from what otherwise would be an interesting video.

    On the lack of physical controls I find the voice assistant good enough for basics. “Hi BYD, set the temperature to 23 degrees”, “turn on the rear demister” etc.

      You may also use the three finger swipe on the screen. Horizontal for temp controls. Vertical for fan speed

    “Five foot eleven when I’m feeling confident” hahah funny and I know what he means. I can relate

    Test drove a BYD Seal yesterday; rotated the screen using the button on the steering wheel to portrait mode; actually works well for navigation. My desire for ‘removing potential things to go wrong’ is intrinsic so still not convinced it’s a great idea.

    Being the owner of a Model 3 and having rented a Seal if this is on the same build quality with the Seal I would take it over Model Y any day. Prices too sound high but actually cheaper than the equivalent Ys.

      @mahonjt

      Maybe, only maybe in the US would I consider the M3 over the Seal because of the autopilot which is obviously extra. But by any other measue I’d take the Seal. Indeed I have.

      Apart than the build quality, what can you say about the comparison of model Y and Seal? How is the performance, software?

      It’s quite rare for tesla owner to admit that any other car may be better. Much appreciated.

      @@jefftyt I cant compare Seal and Y since Seal is Model 3 equivalent. Software was on par, drive aids on the same level since we don’t have FSD in the UK. It was quiet, far more quiet than my first gen Model 3. Performance was really good with only complain that regen was not great. Seats were better, comfier with more support on turns. Boot was smaller though. Overall and considering the price if Seal was available when I got my 3 I would have gone for the Seal.

    Haha as someone from the US, hearing her say “Do up all the windows” reminds me how hard it is to do voice controls for an international company. It nailed it though!

    Guys the 7 is to signify its fully electric.

    Shark 6 and Sealion 6 (called Seal U for sone reason where you are) came out in Australia and they’re PHEVs

    7 signifies fully electric when there’s an ICE alternative

    also, for those wondering, the screen doesnt dim when in portrait, its got a polarized, and its interfering with the ND filter on the camera, but it does mean if you are wearing sunglasses in the car, it might be unusable in portrait for you depending on the glasses

    If BYDs organisation (or lack of) was even half as shabby as you described, the way Nicola and team have managed to salvage a video of this quality is nothing short of amazing. Good work!

    Weird how you had to share as I watched another video from a reviewer from Ireland and he had exclusive access to the car he was in and managed to get it onto the autobahn and up to 225km/h. Great to have you and another journalist working together and in a fun way thanks to both of you. Touchscreen like many EV’s these days, luckily not all. Alot of SUV’s well all ride similar to this as they aren’t saloon/sedan form factor. It also has acoustic glass in some areas to help keep it quieter. Unfortunate about sharing and organisation of the event but you two did a great job with the video. 🙂
