In this video, we head to Milan to find out whatever you require to learn about the 2027 Dacia Striker. The new Striker has a chunky, 4×4-inspired position with distinctive T-shaped LED headlights, practical roof rails and a lot of plastic cladding. But it's not a pure SUV– its streamlined roofline and extended wheelbase suggest it's also a competitor to estate cars and trucks like the Skoda Octavia.

Under the bonnet, there's an option in between 2 amazed powertrains: the front-wheel-drive Hybrid 155 (which declares to work on electrical power for approximately 80% of city journeys), and the creative Hybrid 150 4×4, which sets a 1.2-litre fuel engine with a rear electrical motor and 5 driving modes for much better off-road ability.

Inside, the Striker's interior is loaded with Dacia's signature simplicity and creative functions. We try out the new 10.1-inch touchscreen with cordless Apple CarPlay and the ingenious head-up driver's display. We likewise find out how practical this brand-new Dacia is by jumping into the rear seats and taking a look at the 600-litre boot with its modular, wipe-clean floor and hands-free tailgate.

Finally, we run you through the trim levels– from the budget-friendly Necessary trim to the more generously geared up Extreme– and discuss why the expected sub- ₤ 25,000 starting price could make the Dacia Striker the ultimate household automobile deal.

    I like it. Considering a bigster for my next car, but I do like this one…

      I think this is essentially a more rakish, sporty interpretation of the same idea. I slightly wonder if Dacia may have over-done it a little here. The Jogger, Duster, Bigster and Striker are all pretty similar. Hopefully they are not going to be cannibalising each other’s sales. If it does, genuinely, arrive at 25k retail then Dacia might shift rather a lot of them. Perhaps stealing sales from the rising Chinese brands such as Jaecoo and Omodo.

      I have to say that I, personally, don’t like the interior much – which is subjective and not a problem with the car per se as long as other people do. I really wish Dacia would at least try to give their cars a bit of spark and colour now-and-then. Just a touch of colour and character here-and-there wouldn’t cost the earth and could go a long way.

      @Rapscallion2009I need something a bit rugged and easily cleaned as this car will be my daily driver and used for my outdoor hobbies with dirty kit (biking, fishing etc). I did test drive the Bigster a couple of weeks ago, and the build quality was super impressive for the price. I do wish there was a pure EV option, but I don’t think such a car exists. The only thing close is the Frontera, but i don’t really like the styling…

      Once again Dacia is making a huge mistake with this interior.

    4. @APW_industries Avatar
      @APW_industries

      @g@giorgoschatziioannouy’s that? I think the interior is great on all the current Dacias. I drove a Bigster 2 weeks ago, I was really impressed with the build quality and feel..

      Maybe. It could be lovely once you get into it. But nobody is going to find that out if it looks horrible.

      I wouldn’t say it’s bad, but it doesn’t make me want to buy one of their cars. It just needs livening up a little with some colour and charm.

    I bought a new Bigster 155 Hybrid in March and I must say the hybrid system is superb. The other day I drove from home to the hospital in central Swansea so the trip was a combination of motorway, A roads, B roads and urban. I averaged 74.7 mpg on that trip. Yes, 74.7 mpg! My total average mpg over the course of 2000 miles is now 49.8

    For some context, my previous Dacia was a 2024 Sandero 1.0 litre turbo and that managed an average of 47 mpg over 7600 miles. Meaning the larger, heavier Bigster is more fuel efficient than a small hatchback.

      @chrisrelentless902 i have a duster 2 from 2023 with the uplift package, great car, just 100cv and 1.0l engine but has great torque and more than enough top speed, i had no issues with the engine nor any mechanical part, i broke a mirror and it was cheap to replace. My opinion go for either any model before 2023 so that more pices are available for repairs and much cheaper.

      My Renault Austral averages 64 mpg with a tiny 1.3 litre hybrid.

      @TheVintageApplianceEmporium

      @chrisrelentless902 No issues at all. Both cars were 100% perfect on delivery and after two years for the Sandero

      The Citroen C5x was also a hybrid estate, hatchback, coupe design, but was a sales disaster. It is actually a very good car. I have had one for four years – no problems at all.

    The Bigster is more of an estate than this. However, this is a pretty car.

    I don’t understand why the reverse lights have to be so low

    1. @stevenmoran4060 Avatar
      @stevenmoran4060

      I used to think that but, my Austral has low lamps and they actually work much better in the dark when reversing, they really light up the road or drive.

    I ran a Dacia Logan Stepway for 7 years, in many ways the predecessor to this car. Very basic car and was £14k brand new back in 2018, but perfectly fine as a workhorse and had a huge boot and decent performance from the Renault diesel engine. 100% reliable in nearly 80,000 miles.

    The Striker looks a worthy successor, but being £24k plus does show how much car prices have increased. Yes it’s way cheaper than other mainstream rivals of the same size, but it’s not quite the bargain it used to be.

      20 years ago a Skoda also was a bargain, look at their prices now. 4 years ago I bought my Skoda Karoq (in the Netherlands) for 33K. If I would buy the same model today it would set me back 42K.

    The new Dacia Striker offers a massive 600-litre boot and a hybrid engine for less than £25k! 🧊🔋

    If you were buying a practical family car today, which would you choose?
    A) Dacia Striker (I love the rugged styling and great value for money!) 🇷🇴
    B) Skoda Octavia Estate (The boot is even bigger!) 🇨🇿
    C) MG HS (I want a proper SUV!) 🇬🇧

      Škoda is Concern. It is one or two class above MG and Dacia. You can see interior in this screaming: “Cheeeeaappppp…” But I must say…it is beautiful design. I like it! One of the best looking cars for me. And the engines…could be. It is none 2.0 TSI or TDI but..could be…the price is question. Of course .. Škoda is in price again some class above.
