    I thought Hyundai’s Inster might get a mention. Maybe it is too different from the mainstream. Based on the specs and 3rd party reviews I’ve seen the 02 + Tech Pack competes with the Renault 5 that was your No. 1. More practical and versatile.

      The Inster is a great little car – and in our opinion only just outside the top 10.

      Just rejected my Inster. Control Unit failure. After six weeks. Wouldn’t touch Hyundai EVs going forward

    I have to disagree with you whole heartedly with your gwm ora comments. My partner took delivery of an ora 03 GT in November, we didn’t buy new although the offers to do so we’re amazing, we purchased a pre registered 30day old with 10 miles on for £17800.
    The car itself is great to drive and very economical especially in winter when we got more range from the ora than we did from my Skoda enyaq 85. The equipment levels are great, it’s fully loaded and I can’t think of a similar car with heated, cooled massage seats that can park itself il and as for the smallish entertainment screens, with voice control that actually works unlike my Skoda, you don’t actually need to use the touchscreen much. The beeps and bongs from the first edition models are pretty much gone or very low volume now and you no longer need to delve into menus to turn lane assist off, just one touch from the drop down menu and again I have to do more before setting off in my enyaq. You may want to have a closer look at updated cars before giving verdicts.
    Yes it has a small boot and is expensive at full retail but who pays full retail.

      I came here to leave a similar comment!

      We actually have a first edition; the infotainment and ADAS updates have changed everything for the better.

      And I don’t think you can get a car the same size with a nicer interior, actually. The interior was developed by BMW in Germany, and is excellent for the size and price of the car.

    I really want the PV5 added to the Motability list for a good advanced payment. It’s a great car for disabled drivers who need some space.

      looking at the Chinese safety test that was just published a few days ago, tesla is a good choice if you want the safest car on the market, it was the most reactive car and har by far the least crashes in their test.

    Very strange to be presenting the top speed of these vehicles, but completely failing to mention the 10-80% charge time, a key metric for EVs.

    1. @IverKnackerov Avatar
      @IverKnackerov

      No not really – most people charge overnight at home most of the time. Max charge speeds are rarely available anyway

    2. @stevenjones916 Avatar
      @stevenjones916

      @IverKnackerovWhat percentage of people drive at over 100mph ?

    3. @elob5741 Avatar
      @elob5741

      Rarely available?? Most EVs should be able to hit their maximum rate repeatedly on a long trip, if it’s planned properly. And part of that planning is using decent chargers.

      That said, charging CURVE is the more relevant factor, and thus 10-80% time.

    4. @Trifusion1 Avatar
      @Trifusion1

      @IverKnackerov So it’s more important to know that these cars can do 112mph?

      I agree the charge speed isn’t relevant that often, but it’s more relevant than these top speeds. Is anyone taking their PV5 for a track day?

    5. @davidlewis4399 Avatar
      @davidlewis4399

      @IverKnackerov Only people with a drive do that so over 40% are screwed oh forgot they dont have an EV.

    We have a first edition GWM Funky Cat. We favour rear passenger space over boot space, and it has more of that than any other car its size.

    It’s also far more engaging to drive than a lot of other small EVs (trust me, we also have an MX-5 so we know what ‘engaging to drive’ means) and after a few updates the infotainment and ADAS are just like any other modern car. I’m not entirely sure where all the hate comes from to be honest.

    I have just got a Renault 4, replaced a Honda e that I have had for 5 years. I love it. Apart from the RWD handling, traction and a bit of extra speed, everything else is just better in the R4. Especially the software and ADAS. AND it;s 85% the same as a Renault 5, juts with a tad more rear space, a far better boot and One Pedal.
