Say hey there to the new Vauxhall GSE Idea. It's packed with familiar GSE cues, consisting of a slim, racing-inspired steering wheel bearing the brand-new GSE logo, and motorsport-influenced alloy wheels with triangular cut-outs referencing icons like the Opel Manta 400 rally automobile. Inside, a minimalist light-weight chauffeur's seat and prominent roll cage strengthen the cars and truck's track focus, meaning major performance to match its aggressive styling.

Vauxhall states the principle will explore the limitations of battery-electric performance. It follows confirmation in July that the production Mokka GSE will become the brand's first all-electric high-performance model.

Most importantly, the concept might form the style and technical basis for the next-generation Vauxhall Corsa which is anticipated to release next year. With the Corsa long-established as an essential volume design for the brand name, it would make sense for Vauxhall to inject its new GSE efficiency principles into the Corsa's future version, providing a sportier take on among its most important cars.

Join Nicola as she takes a walk around the new GSE Concept. Has Vauxhall finally discovered its EV mojo?

Looking forward to a special edition of the Kilowatt Half Hour where the entire team set a lap time on the same track in GT7.

This is awesome, but it makes me sad. We don’t get any cool EV hot hatches in USA.

Get the Golf R not ev but Absolutely Superb 👌 and it won’t Catastrophically depreciate like an EV 😊

So much excitement for the virtual performance figures of a gaming car?

Fun preview, thank you. One thing it has got absolutely right is to put as much into the head up display as possible and as little as possible into some kind of infotainment iPad. There is still the problem that this would be a Vauxhall much as the original Ford Sierra Cosworth was still a Ford Sierra.

Now this is a fast GSE model that Opel should make instead of Mokka, a proper electric hothatch 🤟🤟🤟⚡⚡⚡
Opel just take my money 🤑😅

    “You’re not going to see…”

Helpfully proves why Vauxhall/Stellantis are behind the real game: other EV manufacturers are spending less time pissing about with Gran Turismo and taking risks on things like the Ioniq 5N and iX. Even the new Leaf is more exciting than anything Stellantis is doing.

They need to take risks like this in real life, not in a game. Then they’d see sales improve the way they should.

This would be mental if a prototype is made.

I do hate showing off concept cars, when we have no chance of getting one. Having said that love Nicola’s super keen presentation!

In fairness the Renault 5 was very close to the concept. But yes if they never build it, it’s a mute point some would agree pointless. Your really bragging about what we call in Scotland “Scotch Mist” meaning it doesn’t exist but for an idea.

A luke-warm Corsa might be fun…. But people will just buy an MG4 X-Power. As the basic Corsa is already stupidly expensive. Don’t want to ask what this might cost.

    Firstly great review as normal.
Nice idea but will not happen, it’s a 3 door. If it does somehow make a road version, it will only be roughly 40/50 per cent of the concept as when it’s released all roads will have 20mph limits. And final it will costs the same as the mad looking Renault 5 concept which is £250,000 plus. Not for the working glass person at that price.

With a little tweak this concept GSe could be a new ABARTH Punto rallycar.

Totally a concept only, will never be built. However, a warm version will of course eventually come out which will just be the existing model with a body kit at an inflated price. This is Stellantis after all.

Feng Xiaotong, a 20-30 something car tuner in China built a 1000hp sub 1000kg EV with his mates. Did 0-100 in 1.85 sec.
For Opel, with their resources, this would be a piece of cake.

Vauxhall should take this rallying (WRC). The regulations are changing soon to allow for more radical styling and EVs to compete.

Great review Nicola. Really well presented. Also loved the ad lib “getting really sweaty doing this. It’s a really hot day”. Best presenter ever.

Yes it’s a concept but if the design language gets carried across to production cars and potential motorsport outlets, then the concept has done its job. Concepts don’t need to meet all the safety requirements…
I’m really pleased to see concept EVs based on fun and drivability rather than, say, making a legacy GT car into a SUV…
