    Should have been GTE

Yes I totally agree – legend is the Kadett GTE rally version in yellow and black – did you have them as Vauxhall too? Its a true classic now

GTE would have been a fitting name, but it seems the marketing department aren’t old enough to remember the Astra GTE, let alone the Kadett GTE.

As a continental European it’s an Opel – since 100 years. – funny to a Vauxhall logo still – but on the other hand it must be the same from the British perspective, pure branding exercise

Often you see a Vauxhall where the front grill badge has fallen off and the Opel badge is revealed

@BavarianCarEnthusiast20230 I drive a 2018 Holden Commodore but always tell everyone it’s an Opel Insignia. Most Australians don’t know that many of their favourite “Australian” Holden cars were in fact rebadged German Opel cars. I’ve always driven Opel, whether I lived in Europe or Australia. I am so disappointed that Opel isn’t available anymore in Australia! But doesn’t Opel have other Gse models besides the Mokka? Corsa, Astra, Tourer?

Vauxhall formed in 1857, bought by GM in 1925. Opel formed in 1862, partially bought by GM in 1929 and fully in 1931.

GM operated Vauxhall and Opel independently till 1980, when they started merging their operations eventually keeping Vauxhall as the UK (and some other market brand) and Opel as the continental European brand.

In 2017, with GM retrenching to the US, exiting the world’s markets, sold Vauxhall/Opel to PSA (now Stellantis).

Nice car, but I’m not a fan of 280 hp on the front wheels. Even though there’s a differential that manages it well. Waiting for your driving experience.

2:05 “this is going to “brake” like an absolute dream” – yeah got that right, it’s a Stellantis car, breaking is part of the guarantee 😂 shame really, but yeah if the internet has taught me anything it’s stay away from Stellantis EVs, which is a shame because the Jeep Avenger looks really cool

The old GSE and GTE used to stand out from the crowd. This doesn’t even try to look sporty! Nice that it has a little more power, but very disappointed with the styling.

For most average British families it was either Ford, Vauxhall or Austin Rover. That however was 30+ years ago and things have long changed . Two of those brands have totally lost there way and one has gone forever. I hope Vauxhall can save themselves before its too late however I don’t see an electric Mokka being the saviour.

It’s too late for vauxhall, they have been swallowed up by Stellantis.i had a 2003 astra, quite a decent car, but I wouldn’t go near the new ones.

My immediate reaction is if I want a Stellantis hot(ish) hatch I would rather have the Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce. It looks better inside, has some style and is not a Vauxhall. I imagine performance and handling of the Mokka is not too far off the Alfa or Abarth. Then one thing Vauxhall has going for it is that it has dealers closer to us than Alfa for when something goes wrong – all Alfas I have had have always gone wrong.

I like it but think that sadly it will have the same fate as the Alfa Junior, Abarth 600, the lower range will put people off.
