Hi all, missed the mid week 180’s Pete but glad to hear you managed to get some quality downtime. Hope everyone is enjoying the British weather 🤔

The UK EV grant is a last ditch attempt to save the UK car industry. Sadly, it’s too late and China will destroy the industry in the same way it has with the majority of UK manufacturing. Fully agree the money should be spent on road infrastructure maintenance.

So, no explanation as to why some cars are entitled to £3750 and others the lesser amount.

Reintroducing EV subsidies. In simple terms: taxpayers who ‘can’t’ afford a new car will now be helping to fund people who ‘can’ often to the tune of £50,000 per vehicle.

Why are we funnelling public money into subsidising expensive, often unwanted cars for wealthier buyers? This isn’t about environmental policy anymore, it’s about pushing an unpopular agenda, and asking ordinary people to foot the bill.

They call it the Labour party, but they are so far away from that, it is unrecognisable. Individuals can’t be this idiotic and be in power without something sinister behind the scenes controlling everything.

It’s £3 per year from each Tax Payer – not exactly life impacting on anyone.

everything that comes out of this govt is halfwitted and stupid, the serious lack of intelligence across the benches is thoroughly depressing

In answer to your title headline yes the money should be spent on repairing our disgusting roads. When the holes damage your cars the council refuse to compensate you.

I went to Goodwood last Thursday, I’ve never been before. Really enjoyed it but boy, was it hot! As a fair-skinned Brit I struggled a bit 😂

Cheers Pedders, good to have a mid-weeker again. We bikers have loads of good European touring Apps, surprised motoring ones are so behind. I guess bikers always chat and like to pass on any good info.

Hey mate. Glad you have you back on the channel. Was surprised not to see you at FOS but to be honest, you didn’t really miss anything. There was very little inspiring about this year (with the exception of the Future Lab which, for the first time, really caught my eye). It was good, but having been for the last 10 years, there was no excitement to it. Drivers no longer seem to go meet the fans at the top of the hillclimb or the start line, the paddock was packed as ususal, and prices keep going up. Seriously questioning whether to go next year 🙁 On the positive side, I’ve sold my TTS and got a Mk4.5 Focus ST estate (need to change my profile pic). Thanks for your video on this. Only got it today, but feels like a decent, sporty, family wagon.

No mention of the TdF? Hope you’ve found some time to watch. Racing has been brutal so far. Anyone who races on two wheels, mad respect!

Absolutely agree that they should fix our roads first. Unfortunately that would mean the govt would have to find some money! The EV grant they’ve chosen to go with simply trades the VAT as the discount (grant).
