BMW Tuned 430d vs BMW M4: DRAG RACE

Here's a 4 Series drag race you didn't understand you required … Until today!

We have actually got Ben Collins lining up in a new , and he's facing off against Mat in an old 430d?!

Seems like an inescapable conclusion, ideal ?! Well trust us – this is no regular 4 Series! It might still have a 3-litre straight 6 under the bonnet, but it's had several thousand pounds invested in it and as a result, it now produces an eye-watering 462hp and 1017Nm of torque!!

As for the M4, well that's stock, so it gets here with a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six that can put down 510hp and 650Nm.

They're both RWD, and the 430d is around 200kg lighter than the M4. However certainly a diesel can't beat a brand new M4, best?! There's only one way to discover … LET'S RACE!

    We need more tuned drag races and drone footage like this!!! Also, for drag races, can you add the 0-60mph times and braking distances in the videos as visuals as well as a speed trap at the 1/4-mile mark, if you can. I speak on behalf of everyone watching these videos. Thank you.

      Ferrari and other brands will stop reaching out. They don’t allow accel times posted against competitors.

      Customers will see just how overpriced their vehicles are and hurt sales.

      @Nitro. at a larger front mount intercooler isn’t too much maybe £200 then you have the engine remap and gearbox remap which are around £500 each. That alone gets the car to 300+hp and 6-700nm. After that you have DPF removal and then turbo upgrade etc for the big power. Darkside have all the prices on their website and are the go to diesel tuner in the UK IMO

      ​@AhEmGee i am sure 1000nm in the wet is much more difficult to lunch with a rwd car. I own a 330d with 680nm, even launch in second gear in the wet gives ridiculus wheelspin full trottle. Petrol has a easier torq curve to go fast when enough power and torque.

      @S3Ben The diesel would do much better with 200nm less torque. Having more than 2x the twist than horses is pointless, especially when its all going to the rear axle.

      For a little over half the cost of the 435d mods BMW dealers will fit an AC Schnitzer tuning box to your G8x without affecting your warranty. Then you can start playing with Lambos. Of course you can get 600bhp with a 500 quid remap, but I wouldn’t want to do that to an £85k car without some kind of warranty😉

      ​@Jon Atkinson A simple stage 1 all stock parts G80 M3 is on par / faster than Porsche 992 Turbo S while being much less expensive and way meaner / dailyable and agressive looking.

    Hi Mat, small suggestions from me. Request your editing team to put speedometer view of both cars in a corner, so viewers can see top speed achieved and at what speed being overtaked.

      I think the difficulty here is that during the drag race they use multiple angles and sometimes go back a few seconds in the drag race to show different perspectives of the race.

      Maybe they could do their normal edit and then leave in a single shot 1 cut of the drag race with speed overlays and other data.
