In my opinion one of the best City Cars on sale 😊

Nice to see it at that price, but I would go for the Dacia Spring. As it will be even cheaper to run.

You’re absolutely spot on Ped! I drove one for two days whilst my xceed was being serviced and it’s an amazing little car. On the second day I reset the trip computer, drove economically and managed to do 78mpg… There is only one car that I know that drives and sounds like this: the supercharged Micra dig-s but certainly not as fuel efficient… Nice bit of kit and nice review as always. 👌🏻 PS. I have two i10s at work and it’s hard to believe they’re brothers…

Small, simple and back to basics. Can’t fault Kia for that. Ford made a big mistake ditching the fiesta, because I think there’s still a market for small city cars that are cheap to run and just have the essentials you need.

This is ideal for nipping to town or busy built up areas. Small wheels and a nice simple non turbo petrol engine.

Other manufacturers are missing a trick here I think.

I love the Picanto ,always enjoy driving them when my Ceed goes in for servicing.its just a car for A to B and does the job perfectly for the price.

great to see a car that the poorer masses could afford. would be interesting to know prices of spares, accessories, servicing etc

Hyundai/Kia prices are not cheap for genuine. Not many brands aren’t these days. My ancient Hyundai spares are about 10 times what they pay in India which is where it was made. It’s like buying printer ink. The printer is cheap but the ink cost more than gold.

What’s not to like! I really like everything about it, and it’s at a sensible price. Also, don’t KIA do a 7-year warranty. So its Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! 👍 Thanks Peter for a great review. 👍

7 year or 100k miles whichever is first. Probably the best warranty on the market I’m sure

You were having a lot of fun. Sounds like you’ve found the replacement for when you hand the Boxter back

My £90k Merc SL from 1999 has the same flick knife key to start the car.

I enjoyed the review and I liked the ‘tongue ‘n’ cheek’ style you presented in 😂. More reviews of cars like these kind of thing.

I remember when I first drove a VW Up! Very impressed with a small car and love the sound of the 3cyl engine.

I love the fact that it has given you a massive smile on your face. The little 3-cyl engine giving a wonderful noise, the fact it does not creak and rattle meaning it is well made, and puts back the real FUN of driving at low speeds. Yes, it does not have the space for four up and long distance, but as a day to day car for commutes, the fact your big smile on you face, makes it for me, a bit of a winner. Mind you I have had several superminis over the years and it is that low(er) speed fun when you are driving to work, or a quick weekend away makes it so much more fun! Back to basics in a very well made package. Almost a Mini Cooper (original one) for the 21st century. I may look at one as a second car to my holdall.

I don’t think there is any other channel that I’d watch a review on a Kia Picanto 😅 Those little 3 cylinder engines are always so much fun 🙂

Haven’t seen you grin so much in ages. For Boggo car, it does it all for the money. My sister would probably love it.

Bought my daughter one of these 18 months ago as her first car, higher spec than this, but otherwise very similar. This really is a great little car, a bit more poke would be nice, but we’ve been to London twice to get some experience in more challenging conditions absolutely no problems. Will happily buzz along at 70/80, super easy to drive, all the toys a teen needs, comfortable and quiet enough and handles really rather well, it has character and isn’t dull/unresponsive. A relative bargain in a world of stupidly expensive cars, would throughly recommend

I genuinely thought that the sound of the car was another joke was thinking ohh he’s put a different engine sound over the top…. It actually sounds like that! A map and a Halford wing and you got half a rice box there… Love it

Well done for reviewing the base model Picanto in such an honest way.
