FIRST DRIVE: Peugeot E-5008 – is THIS the perfect family EV??? | Electrifying

Read the evaluation:

The Peugeot E-5008 is a mid-sized electrical SUV that features a helpful seven-seat design as requirement. It's based upon the exact same 'STLR Medium' platform as the swoopier, five-seat , and even gets the very same powertrain options and trim levels. That indicates a 73kWh battery with a single-motor, front-wheel drive alternative for 311 miles of WLTP variety, or the exact same battery with a more powerful, all-wheel drive, dual-motor setup– although it handles essentially the exact same declared range. A 98kWh model shows up in 2025 with a long series of 410 miles.

There's also a good chance of a five-seat variation of the E-5008 in the future, however that's still TBC. In the meantime, it's seven-seat only, with a couple of fully equipped trims and prices beginning with around ₤ 48,000. You will also be able to get a hybrid or plug-in hybrid Peugeot 5008 (the latter coming with an electric range of 49 miles) from 2025.

Competitors consist of the more compact yet more pricey Mercedes EQB, and the much larger– and much pricier Kia EV9. So, in lots of methods, the E-5008 is in a class of its own.

There are 2 battery choices in the E-5008; a 73kWh with either single- or dual-motors, with both offering a WLTP range of 311 miles. The 98kWh E-5008 arrives in early 2025 (as does the dual-motor 73kWh model) with a declared WLTP variety of up to 410 miles, making this one of the longest variety family SUVs in this rate range. Even the 73kWh E-5008 goes usefully further than the Mercedes EQB, or any of the van-based seven-seat electric automobiles, such as the Citroen e-Berlingo.

When it comes to real-world variety, we found that the E-5008 handled a very respectable 3.6 miles per kWh over our warm, reasonably quick test drive in Sweden, which is good for a range of 263 miles. We 'd expect that to eke approximately 280 miles in slower, about-town driving, or it'll drop to more like 210- to 240 miles per charge in winter season, depending on how you're driving.

Charging speeds are up to 160kW, which is good for an additional 62 mile top-up in around ten minutes, or a 20-80% charge in 30 minutes. That's respectable, and is on a par with the (five-seat only) Skoda Enyaq, if not as quick as the charging you enjoy in the Tesla Model Y and Hyundai Ioniq 5 that you may well think about against an E-5008 if the seven-seat layout is just a helpful bonus for your way of life, rather than a strict necessity.

Plug in at a 7kW home wallbox and you'll have a full charge in between 12- and 15-hours. There's likewise 11kW air conditioning charging as standard on the E-5008, which decreases that full charge time by a number of hours. Nevertheless, you require three-phase charging to take advantage of that, which you frequently discover in kerbside or lamp-post battery chargers in cities– the typical home wallbox battery charger can usually only handle 7kW.

5:45 “wrapped around” “cockpit” “tight” “cozy” = “restrictive” “confined” “does my right leg always have to be in the same position?”

seven seater family hauler (because you cant have adults in third row) and you only two isofix points.. they entirely killed the reason why people were buying old 5008

I had 3 Peugeot’s as company cars. They got driven “well” around the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, in all weathers. Not once did I have a problem.
