Jeep problem sounds like the 12 volt battery needs changing 🤔 Any wire damage? Possibly by mice 🐭

Alternative view on VAT. Face it – home charging EVs is exploiting a tax loophole. VAT on domestic electricity is set because it is seen as an essential. Full rate VAT has always been applied to petrol – its perfectly “fair” to charge full rate VAT for electricity to power cars. If we are to switch from petrol to electric you cannot expect the government to give up this revenue. Also if you remove VAT from rapid chargers the cost is still far far higher than overnight at home charging. Removing VAT will not make it “fair”. I’d focus on making it easier for more people to exploit the tax dodge by allowing gullies in pavements or cable covers.

I had similar issue with original Hyundai Ioniq with the intermitent infotainment. Stopped happening after resetting the infotainment by disconnecting the 12v battery and reconnecting it. I also noticed the positive connection wasn’t as tight as it should be, so tightened it up.

Nearly there! Only 2 more minutes to the Kilowatt Hour Podcast. Also, speaking of apps, my Ioniq 5 came with 2 years of free charging (here in the US) at Electrify America, but it required the app. There are 2 EA charge points near me. One is always busy in town, and the other is never busy out at a resort on the beach. But I found it nearly impossible to use the empty one because the cell service in the area is so weak. I had to try over and over until the connection held long enough to get the charge session going.

Wonder if the issue with the Avenger is linked to the release of iOS 27, perhaps there’s something that’s not quite compatible.

Kippers with brown bread & butter followed by a lsice of bread & jam (to neutralise saltiness). Helps reduce the ‘kipper burps’ too.

Re: Jeep Avenger black screen/reboots… check the 12v going sketchy or perhaps a bad ECU/infotainment chip. Apparently there are also reports of some type of feedback issue with the key fob inside or next to the wireless charger. If your key is there, try moving it away from that spot. All else fails, go take it in for service and make a video of the experience, since that would be a good real world user experience point.

I’ve had EVs for over 5 years now and mostly public charge as I live in a terrace house. I occasionally granny charge but it’s rare.
I’ve only paid more than the rate of any ice fuel around 3-4 times in the years of having EVs and that was purely down to last minute lack of planning.
I mostly charge at BeEv using the sub I get 39p charging rate and will always ensure I charge at rates lower than diesel even if it means driving a little further to achieve the costs
Even without a home charger I wouldn’t go back to ice
