If you were shopping for a new small EV, which would you choose?

    – Cupra Raval 🇪🇸
    – Renault 5 🇫🇷
    – MG4 Urban 🇨🇳
    – Mini Cooper Electric 🇬🇧

Maybe you’d include the car that was reviewed in this video?

Would add Hyundai Ioniq 3 especially now with 3750 grant.

I prefer the mg4ev rather than the urban. Sportier, rear drive, multi link rear suspension and a more compact size. A bit dearer though here in Australia.

I bought a Renault 4, picked it up two weeks ago. The Kia EV2 was a contender.

This man should do more reviews. I don’t see him often.

    He’s good …

Test drove a V2 last week. Impressive efficiency overall. Drove very well. Fun.
But if you want some of the nice things it gets pretty expensive quickly. And this end of the EV market has suddenly become REALLY competitive so is still a bit over priced.
Renault have just announced an upgrade to the Megane e-tech. An almost identically sized competitor (4.2m long). Gets the full EV grant in the UK and a brand new LFP battery at 67kWh and faster charging at 160kW. WLTP over 300 miles. Heat pump standard. And now cheaper than this spec for spec. The Raval is really good but now looks off the pace for the price all of a sudden.

Yes we are awaiting the Reval to arrive in the Country we are living in and we are definitely interested in a purchase. Good to see the V1 tested and seems a decent spec. Let’s hope for the same when it arrives here.

SUV? It’s just a hatchback and good for that!

It’s very interesting but with those touch controls and that MG4 styled back I would prefer an ID.Polo…

Every “safety” and park assist feature under the sun, light projections on doors etc etc but sill no physical buttons for basic tasks.

They had the choice of either adding the buttons or improving the interior design, to stay within their budget. That is why the higher class ID Polo has the manual buttons instead.

I am 192 cm tall and didn’t have the chance to try these seats. The test car had electric ones, which have independent height adjustment for the front section of the seat cushion. And that is precisely why I decided to go for that expensive option (€1,300 in Croatia)—it allowed for perfect thigh support. Now I just have to wait for the car delivery in March 🙄

It’s a great little car I collected mine last week. I thought it was much better than the R5. As less gloomy interior, more space, better cruise control plus more power.

Those of us you living in UK and Europe are lucky. The Cupra is very stylish and it seems like it would be a great commuter car. One thing I would change (and I would change it in almost all cars) is that the rear view mirror should have a camera mode. I have that in my EV and it is great. My view rearward is never blocked by passengers in the rear seat; and I can fill my rear compartment up to the ceiling and my view is never impeded.
