    Been waiting for this one!! I actually really like it, as you said in the video I get why it’s bigger than before, market trends and safety etc along with the VW platform its on. Other than the massive bevils on the screens it’s a nicer interior than most modern Audi’s. I even like that they have brought back (haptic) buttons on the bottom of the wireless charging pad.

      It is a nice interior – the materials are lovely.

      Buttons and knobs are super important. That frunk is a joke, though, and if Audi is going to ask for optional money for cupholders…they’re back at being highway robbers.

      Had a quick look on the Audi website and there’s not a lot of detail on prices yet, but what I did notice is the word ‘Optional’ is all over the site. It’s going to be classic Audi – base model okay value, anything you actually want will be extortionate!

      @ISuperTedyea I think Audi is getting as bad as Pourche for this now.

      @JjaysYoutubeYep, I reckon the middle of the road battery S-Line in metallic will be over £40k.

    beautiful esp from the back. when they design the front lights properly it will be the slick audi design back again that we’ve been all looking for.

    Maybe Audi is reserving the A1 for the Renault 5 competitor.

      Too low class, it’s gonna be a polo but worse for just under what this costs

      They will need to rethink their design language to compete with the design of the 5.

      Well Audi has stated that all uneven numbers forward going are for fossil cars .. sooo ?

    Apart from the split head lights i like the exterior look. The interior is a bit boring. It should have used more from the TT concept car.

    The design looks cleaner than most recent Audi EVs or ICE cars. The front “grille” is still huge, but at least a bit more toned down in style, as is the rest of the exterior, quite like the back actually. Interior looks ok, nice fabric bits, a bit gray, but at least minimal piano black surfaces. Yay! 🙂

      Yup, it’s not as extrovert as the original A2, but we reckon this new A2 will do really well

    They half arsed it re: the display. Those bezels would Pee me right off.

      Makes sense, an ugly car is everyone else’s problem, a weirdly designed display will plague the owner forever.

    3. @petehelme Avatar
      @petehelme

      yeah, it’s a choice, either have a single large housing, that spans the dash and put different sized display units inside that or have multiple housing parts and size those appropriately to the displays, i.e. what Volvo and Rivian do (possibly at a higher cost?). I know which I prefer. 🙂

    All cars have got a lot bigger in the last 26 years, that should be no surprise. Personally, I like it.

    1. @concinnus Avatar
      @concinnus

      Sure, but the original was the size of the Polo of the time. This is 1′ or a segment larger than the ID Polo. It’s an A3 E-Tron with a nostalgic shape.

    The idea that the smaller battery model has te same battery as the middle one, but it’s engeniered to be restricted, closes the deal for me… but not in a good way

    1. @haukikannel Avatar
      @haukikannel

      Does that means the battery still last longer, because there is more empty space to use when battery wear down?

  13. @eamoneejit Avatar
    @eamoneejit

    I thought this was going to be based on the iD Polo platform. It’s more of an A3 size.

      they should have called it A3 etron. they are just misusing the name because it effectively is just a misrepresentation of ab A2

    As a current A2 owner (now 15 years and counting) I can see some similarities. This new A2 is not an outstanding design but it’s not offensive either. To be honest, I doubt most people will see the connection with the original but does that matter, it’s a nice car in its own right. Alongside our A2 we also run a BMW i3S which we love to bits so when it comes to change we will take a serious look at this car. I feel sure we are going to like it, just like the original.
