I initially saw the Kia EV2 at the Brussels Motor Program and liked the appearance of it. Well this week I got to drive it and I believe it could well be the best EV Kia have actually made so far!

    The entry-level Air Level 2 is on Hankook tyres !!! I bet you weren’t happy about that, Pete?😊😊

      BMW use Hankooks on the M5 and even Porsche do on the 911 base Carrera (yes theyre N rated) !

      But that is all that cars have ever been, mostly sold as a dream,’ freedom of the road’ and other sales rubbish. The reality has long been simply a way of getting around inefficiently and somewhat expensively.

    this the perfect little brother to the EV 3. As you say: it makes a perfect second car for families (who can afford it), in some cases it might even be enough for people like a friend of us who bought a second hand Peugeot E-208 for herself. She doesn`t do long journeys by car very often, and she is a single with two medium-size dogs, so she`s perfectly happy with its size and range.
    Other than that, I guess you will have a hard time to find a better car for the same money.

      It makes sense for small families on a budget as well, and for empty nesters. Unless you drive long distances every other week, it’s a perfectly fine only car.

    I love my White AIR Long Range and I think the detail on the back of the seats is to aid rear passengers get in and out. You say Judge Dredd, we say Stormtrooper when viewed from the front. Plenty of room and good m/kwh.

    Great review.
    Looks like a really good car but I wish it had a bit more power and that lane changing thing looked awful.
    It would be useful to know how easy it is to turn off the safety beeps.

    Put this on your shopping list for the New Year, it would make a good runabout for normal motoring, so that you could go for something exotic for yourself.
    The problem might come that you find that a smaller EV becomes the only car you really need. Let the motor trade pay for the Demo cars.

    I’ve just bought the Air trim long range model. It was between the EV2 and the R4, R5 and Micra but the pcp finance and range was the most important thing. Kia won hands down, I’ve had it a week and it’s been great.

    like this a lot, right size, looks good. slightly unsure about the rear 3/4. as a middle aged couple only, this would suit perfectly. Enough space when you need it but not bigger than necessary. Would be this or a R4.

    Basic model has a half of the features that Kia promise on the release presentation. Now if you want descent car you have to pay 32-35k for it. That is much to expensive. If the Kia keep the promise from new model presentation 24-25k for a mid specs EV2 that would be great car to buy. Now it’s much to expensive

    Oh the passage of time eh, not just revisiting places we used to live (I used to live in Woking too…), but how cars like this EV2, the size of an old Nissan Note, are today packed with so much technology, and anything around 10 seconds 0-60 is considered ‘meh’…?!
    Can we campaign for the option of smaller wheels too, on any model, particularly on EVs which chase efficiency

    I like the look and practicality of this model, but the 9 second 0-60 time and no AWD option are deal breakers for my requirements.

    Mr Ped as car reviews go this is as good as it gets! Excellent video footage showing the car as we need to see it! Re the EV2 I honestly think the EV3 brings so much more despite it’s increased price, I could honestly live with the EV3, the EV2 too much of a compromise! Cheers, have a great weekend!     We have a Kia EV3 and had been considering downsizing to an EV2 when our contract ends next year. But Kia UK have decided NOT to include the sliding rear seats which are available in some other markets. A strange decision and I understand it has surprised a number of potential buyers (we have to carry a wheelchair so it rules it out for us). Generally happy with the EV3 other than the nagging doubt for many Kia owners re the number of ICCU failures on some Kia’s (and Hyundai’s) – and apparently one or two already on EV2’s – which leave owners standard with waits for repairs.
