      I was going to comment along these lines. I have a 153K 987.2 Cayman S and I think it is good to contemplate being very happy with what you have got rather than continually looking for the next best thing – it is a fools errand in the end (just my opinion) to constantly chase a better car – where does it end? I am going to keep my old cayman going and just enjoy it. I have reached the point where I honestly don’t want anything newer, better, faster, more expensive. Maybe this is what some of us realise in the end. Anyone still on the quest for the next best thing, good luck to you. If it truly makes you happy, go for it!

    I thought this was your dream car. I’ve been in the motor industry for 26 years in car sales and it still amazes me how many people consider their pet when buying a car! And dealers love sale or return as they can sell a car without owning it or paying for funding on it. I hope you don’t regret your decision if you enjoy it that much

    No need to try and disguise this as being financially sensible. You’re selling one financed car, waiting a few months and then financing an equally if not more expensive car.

    This is what petrolheads do. No car purchasing decision can ever be considered financially sensible because they’re all (mostly) depreciating assets.

    Just buy the car you want and accept that it’s just what you do.

    You’re going to run into the same issues on a 911; high transaction costs on such short ownership lengths, and high monthly payments. Wait two or three years until you can get the payments far lower for the 911 you want.

    I recently bought a 992.1 C2S manual with 14k miles for a little under what the Spyder is up for. It’s a good car, but I wouldn’t be stretching myself on finance for it, or for any second car which is essentially a toy. You really don’t want to be doing mental maths about how much the monthly payment is costing you per mile driven. No second car is really worth that to be honest
