More Trims For More Shoppers | 2025 GMC Sierra EV Denali

GM is plainly on top of the truck market, a minimum of when it concerns choices. The Chevrolet Silverado , GMC Hummer EV, and the Sierra EV makes 3! For 2025 we see new trims (outside the initial Edition 1) starting with the Denali. With a host of functions, 2 battery options, and clearly various look from the ICE Sierra this is a compelling truck in it's own right but is it right for you?

    I REALLY hope GM brings that folding midgate to their ICE trucks. I miss the avalanche for that feature. It was so unique and useful.

      @@EVBuyersGuide i mean if they brought back the same type of Avalanche body as they once had, they could retain the Silverado/Suburban frame components with this midgate result.

      @kelviskelvis7140

      @@ALMX5DP That is not happening. That 20 year old body platform does not perform well with today’s heavy duty requirements. This EV only platform has no counterpart in the ICE world. The Suburban will follow the Escalade IQ and transform into an EV only platform , but they will not duplicate the Silverado/Serria mid-gate. I own the Silverado it is a great truck with the mid-gate – I will never go back to ICE.

    2. @naveenthemachine Avatar
      @naveenthemachine

      @ but after a few years the trial expires and then you lose the navigation. The Google maps in the GM EVs are internet connected so without a cell signal the gps won’t work. Built in gps means built into the car and not reliant on a cell network

    3. @ALMX5DP Avatar
      @ALMX5DP

      @@naveenthemachine I suppose though maps and POIs and route planning still need to be updated somehow. OEM systems don’t gain new information themselves and I’m sure many if not most charge something to the consumer who wants to update their “built in” gps database. And I’m pretty sure a certain person normally talks about how if something is this expensive then they can pay a few extra bucks.

    I see one drawback of separate design from regular ICE truck connected to smaller central console in EV. Ford F150 Lightning has a wide console usable for a working station employing a laptop positioned like on a small table. This truck’s console is looking like a regular vehicle would have.

    It looks like they may have addressed the tailgate hitting the hitch design issue. Not 100 percent certain. Just by briefly looking at the tailgate in this video, it appears the upper section that opens/ folds down is placed higher in the gate, allowing it to bypass the hitch when tailgate is down and open. I might be wrong, I’m curious to see for certain though. Thanks for all you do! Have. A Blessed Day!

    This is obviously a Denali (aka pricy). I’m more curious about future more affordable trims. GM has three battery sizes for the BT1 architecture but we only see two here in the Sierra for now. The 2025 Silverado EV WT2 is using the 14 module pack (~119KWh) that is also an option on the Brightdrop cargo vans. So it will be interesting when that pack proliferates other trims as well and creates more affordable options. The sweet spot for many I think is the 2025 Silverado EV LT3 model with the 20 module pack. Even the LT3 is very well equipped (better Equipped than my Blazer EV 2LT model). So I would be happy with a equivalent 2LT Silverado EV. Eventually I think there will be a non-Denali equivalent in the GMC lineup. Of coarse this thing is huge. I do wish GM made a mid-sized electric truck.
