Why this car is outselling VW, Ford and Toyota!

Modification your cars and truck with Carwow:

Fulfill the new MG HS!

This mid-size SUV is currently the fifth best-selling automobile in the UK! The question is, why is it so popular? And does it use enough to turn you far from rivals like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Kia Sportage and Mazda CX-5? Mat's got his hands on one to find out.

Starting with the style, it's a fairly attractive vehicle! At the front, there are creases in the bonnet to provide it presence on the road, paired with a huge grille and a stylish lower bumper. There are a couple of vents to offer it more definition, but upon closer evaluation, they are 100% phony! Along the side, there are chrome surrounds for the windows and on the roofing bars, while at the back, there's a small spoiler and a full-length light bar. Sadly, the fakery continues, with a set of 100% fake exhaust pipelines!

On the inside, the MG HS is a quite nice location to be. There's leatherette across the dash and the top of the doors, and there are good-sized infotainment and digital dial screens. There may be some scratchy plastics down low, however that's what you would concern anticipate for an automobile in this cost bracket. The buttons on the guiding wheel feel expensive, and there is a great amount of storage throughout. Knee space in the back is also abundant.

All editions of the MG HS come with a 1.5-litre gas engine. The standalone automobile without hybrid support produces 169hp and 275Nm, while the self-charging hybrid produces 224hp and 340Nm. The top-of-the-range edition is the plug-in hybrid, which produces 299hp and 350Nm. The latter also permits approximately 76 miles of driving on electrical power alone!

The entry-level MG HS can be bought for ₤ 23,572 with the Carwow discount rate used. It's likewise not much more for the top-of-the-range PHEV, which costs ₤ 28,250, once again with the Carwow discount rate used. Given that this is around ₤ 10,000 more affordable than its key rival, the Volkswagen Tiguan, is the MG HS the best car for you? Stick with Mat and see on your own!

      @williamscott850

      I think those kinds of review channels are non-existent for two reasons: First, they’d have to buy the vehicles they review (if they were really ‘long term’ reviews) and second, those kinds of reviews would put their access to the manufacturer-supplied cars at risk because that’s the kind of stuff manufacturers don’t want people talking about. As far as I know, only Consumer Reports does that kind of review structure and those reviews are almost always behind paywalls.

I hated it, the assistance settings are crazy, beeping at me to watch the road when I’m absolutely wired when I drive, it phantom braked from 70-40 on motorways, it was poorly built, the infotainment was woeful and it changed its mind every journey as to which of the seven (7) phone leads (all branded or official) it would work with that day. I was elated when they came and took it away. That said, I had the older version before that for a few weeks, and I actually refused to drive that it was so bad, so it was an improvement.
