Why are thieves stealing Porsche headlights?!

Sell your for free with :

There's a brand-new and truck criminal activity epidemic sweeping the country! Burglars have begun ripping automobiles apart simply to take a handful of parts.

Just recently there have been images shared on the web of burglars taking headlights, and Mat and the team have actually done some examining to find out simply why this is taking place!

It's long been known that burglars will attempt and take catalytic converters, mostly so they can access the precious metals inside them. But why have they now turned their attention to headlights?

Well for beginners, they're not so easy to track! While might come fitted with tracking gadgets, you won't discover these in a set of headlights, so it's a lot easier to get away with it (if you're not spotted during the act, naturally).

But what are these headlights then being used for? And more importantly, will these thieves soon attempt and target Mat's pride and pleasure – his GT3 RS?! Keep seeing this video to see for yourself!

The only entity that can stop this practice is Porsche themselves.

If they weren’t asking such a ridiculous markup on head lamp units this wouldn’t be happening.

All Porsche have to do as well as other manufacturers is simply give up the Greedy practice and let the lights go out at cost value.

Just like that the practice will stop and thieves will move on to the next thing.

Funny. A country like UK cant guarantee basic safety for public and personal properties. I have lived in the UAE for 25 years and never any such incident was ever heard or happened to me. I mean so many times people would just leave their cars engines running and doors unlocked and they would be inside the shops buying stuff. Nothing ever gets stolen there. And here we have UK, one of the best countries in Europe with law and order situation of a poor African country.

They aren’t using them in grows Matt that never happened because you can buy specialized *LED’s* for growing and for extremely cheap. The headlights off a Porsche would buy a bunch of lights instead of one..some news channel spread that idea

I see this becoming a situation where, like the iPhone, the parts are serialized to the car and won’t be replaceable without contacting Apple and having them remote in to re-calibrate the part. If it’s not bought from Apple (or said OEM), it will not function. This is a genius way to combat parts theft.
