      It is not in neutral and you can’t put it in neutral once it dies, the gear selector is one the screen because they are so cheap

      @@pwelelethere is actually a physical gear selector where the hazzard light is.

      Can’t wait for people to realise this was done on purpose and setup just for this video and not something that happens on even a rare basis because people aren’t silly or stupid enough to be out of charge 3 metres away from the charging port.

    3. @MrPikkoz Avatar
      @MrPikkoz

      Not a Tesla guy , they went on purpose for 23miles after the battery hit the 0% , they depleted the battery so deeply that even the 12V service battery went falt thus they couldn’t disengage the parking brake (that activate for safety reasons) in total it ran 352miles mostly at highway speed in real world conditions.

    Do electric cars not have a “neutral” you can put it in and push it?

    1. @MrPikkoz Avatar
      @MrPikkoz

      Yes but they intentionally deep discharged the both the main 400V and the 12V battery (driven 23miles after the 0%) so they where unable to put in neutral from the parking position (that get automatically enabled before diying for safety reasons )

    1. @MrPikkoz Avatar
      @MrPikkoz

      If you watch the full video you’ll see that they deeply discharged both main and service battery as they ran 23miles after it hit 0% battery on the display.

      Talking about missing the whole point: “When your Tesla dies and LOCKS itself in Park”

    3. @MrPikkoz Avatar
      @MrPikkoz

      @@JoriDiculous As much as annoying is , unfortunately it’s a safety feature because of the electric handbrake (personally i prefer manual ones) and brakes, nowadays in modern cars we have power brakes that works using vacuum pressure from the engine (that’s why is damn hard to brake when the engine is off) and in EVs the pressure is applied by an electric compressor. If an EV (when completely bottomming out) doesn’t engage it’s parking brake ,it may allow it to push it but at the same time it can be very dangerous in inclines.
      In the end I see Tesla safety point of view but at the same time it might be useful also to include an emergency mechanical disengage (like what it has in it’s doors).

    1. @pandamilkshake Avatar
      @pandamilkshake

      The car locks itself in park mode. There are no gears and everything, including the parking brake, relies on electricity. When the battery dies, it’s done, you can’t push it anywhere, it just stays there.
