Thats just silly.
-
Crazy and then they ask 20k or something for an option which is needed
-
Wtf u talking about
-
โโ@Bussdownbanditwell porsche charges you 20k for like special rims or to just add like GT3RS or whatever stickers you want
-
@RoadRage.Edits.E39 you canโt even string a sentence together

Never change a winning concept. What is wrong with manual sliders on air vents?
-
More steps and materials required in production. Cost cutting.
-
@S@StonedNoobcause electric operated air vents need less steps and less material?
-
1.) Too boomer. Nowadays noone wants to buy an EV, so they have to come up some kind of “special thing”.
2) The screen is cheaper than the phisycal button. -
The ironic thing is manual air vents do in fact break. The passenger vent in my Ford is stuck in the position facing the driver side, so the passenger gets no air. All 4 of my MX-5 vents cannot stay put so I can’t even adjust them to how I like.
-
@rocko44444444 2. Wrong. The physical button + assembly is MUCH cheaper than putting an electrical assembly to actuate the vent.

Set my Panamera to diffused 8 years ago and never needed to touch it since. It just works.
-
Yeah very true mat it’s good old days bro๐ข
-
No wonder Porsche is in shambles financially nowadays.
-
Physical controls are still the better solution!
-
What da hell! Going through menus to change that? ๐
-
This cant be cost saving any more. Seriously, surely the motors in the vents are mpre expensive than buttons?
Are car designers just….not listening to people?
-
+ The whole glossy center console is the worst.
-
There’s still plenty of older cars on sale if you need user friendly controls..and much cheaper to buy as well.
-
Car ergonomics and driving experience peaked in the late 2000s – cars reached the best combination of mechanical and technological assistance.
Now there is too much of the latter – it interferes rather than assists.
-
Car manufacturers: We need more fuel efficiency
Also manufacturers: Every single moveable object on the vehicle needs its own motor servo, control system and wiring. Our customers are lazy and our cars are too light -
That’s ridiculous.
-
Love how car manufacturers forgot what the little overhang above the dashboard was for
-
Power failure = no AC ๐
-
Nonsense, more money for less practicality for things that you don’t even need
-
I don’t think the owners of a new Porsche will still have that Porsche in 10-20 years. Probably 2-5 at best, before they end up in a wreck because they’re a massive knob of a driver.

It was already a painful switch to start changing the temp from the screen. Not going to even concider a brand doing bs like to this ๐ฎ
