This car is Audi’s future: Is it any good?

Modification your cars and truck with :

This is the brand new e-tron!

While we have the all-electric variant here, the features and looks mainly mirror what will be offered with the petrol-powered . The question is, does it offer enough to sway you away from rivals like the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class? Let's take a better look.

Up front, the S6 has a blanked-out grille, whereas the petrol version would have a bigger, open grille. The S6 has divided headlights, while the comes with traditional headlights – although both provide some of the best headlight tech offered in any vehicle! Along the side, there are sleek door manages and black surrounds around the windows. At the back, there's a full-length light bar and a diffuser style at the bottom.

The interior of the car screams one word: SCREENS! There is a substantial combined infotainment and digital dials screen that stumbles upon the dash, and there's even a third screen on the control panel for the front guest! The infotainment system has actually been upgraded for the brand-new A6/S6, although we believe you'll still discover much better systems in a BMW or Mercedes. Somewhere else, there are soft-touch touch great materials throughout the cabin, and specifically in the S6 the seats are really comfy. Nevertheless, it's not all great – if you look lower or more detailed, you'll discover a little scratchy plastic, unfortunately.

When it comes to power trains, there are lots to select from. The entry-level is a 2-litre 4-cylinder fuel with 204hp and FWD. There's likewise a 2-litre diesel offered, but this comes with AWD as well as 204hp.

There are also 4 various electric versions. 2 are RWD, with the entry-level producing 326 hp, while the top-of-the-range is the S6 e-tron. It runs dual motors that combine to deliver 551hp and 840Nm.

The petrol-powered A6 range begins with ₤ 51,335, whereas the e-tron edition begins with ₤ 62,540. As for the S6 e-tron edition we have here, it begins with an eye-watering ₤ 99,330! So is it worth it? Stick to Mat to see for yourself!

I’ve owned 5 Audis in the past 9 years and considered myself an Audi guy. One big factor of my love for Audis was the interior feel and quality. I’m sorry to say that I have now left the brand due to the exact same thing – interior quality.
Especially when you consider the price point and brand expectations. Besides the hard plastics Matt is mentioning, the little hatch that covers the compartment between the seats is so “loose” the it feels like it will open and close itself during acceleration and breaking. The air vents feel so loose that I think they’ll move if you’re carrying a bit of speed into a corner. And don’t get me started on the buttons on the steeringwheel and the doors. Audi used to be the point of reference for buttons and knobs with their “weight” and “clicking” sound. I’m very much into cars and doing quite well for myself, hence I’m ok with spending a bit of money on cars. But it needs to be justified! Prices have moved an entire model range upwards and they are now asking RS-money for S-models. And with the depreciation on electric versions it’s not like the’re holding their value better than cheaper brands.
I hope someone at Audi/VW understand how dangerous of a path this is.
