    The money should be used to improve our sh1te roads instead of subsidising cars that are struggling to sell.

    *Finally, a grant for cars that don’t need gas! Now if only they’d grant me the ability to park without hitting the curb*

      How is it a scam? Lol, its just a discount on a type of car

      @BS1980-s7e

      Yep, scam as the taxpayers money could have gone to NHS, Education, Farmers, OAP winter fuel, disabled and vulnerable. Instead given to subsidise rich people that can already afford to buy a a brand new car. Total scam.

    “UK government”

    Im out. Want nothing they offer. Always a catch somewhere. “Here is 3 grand of your car…..but now theres a black hole. You now owe 4k tax later down the line when we make up new bs”

    I would prefer if they spent that on fixing potholes so I don’t need to replace lower arms or droplinks every year 🤨

      Good luck with that. Probably better off buying smaller wheels and getting chunkier tyres.

      It’s ironic. With the potholes and speed humps a big 4×4 is the ideal vehicle for a british city yet they are classed as the spawn of Satan.

    The government grants won’t offset the depreciation of an EV

    1. @snakeeyes9246 Avatar
      @snakeeyes9246

      Then lease it or buy one lightly used and already depreciated.

    Literally buying a secondhand enyaq right now, locked in a price a few days before the rise. The other 2 cars I shortlisted at different dealers have already gone up in price by £1000 at least… They were sub £30k, now £30k+…

    1. @Manoharan Avatar
      @Manoharan

      Why are they increasing the prices? I think July and August is the peak period for car sales and may be this might be a reason

    Thousands of children in poverty, NHS is dieing and they’re giving 650 million of tax payer money to the car companies.

    My wife’s got a Puma Gen E on order due to be collected at the end of the month. Our existing car was the deposit, no money has yet changed hands. I’ve no doubt the dealer will claim we ordered it before the “bribe” was announced therefore we don’t qualify. Simple then: we cancel the order and
    re-order elsewhere. If we’re getting one we aint paying more than we have to.

    We should not be subsidising cars made in other countries regardless of why or what they are.

    This government is beyond dumb. This is soooo wrong. If you want to help, remove road tax on electric and remove insurance tax on premiums.

    This is our money you’re wasting.

  19. @USER01237 Avatar
    @USER01237

    The government is basically just giving money to EV manufacturers because all they will do is increase the price of their EV’s by the discounted amount

    @BS1980-s7e

    So hardworking poor taxpayers giving £3750 to rich people who can afford to buy a brand new car? Seems fair……🤔
