Tesla Model X Plaid v Porsche 911 Turbo S: DRAG RACE

Can a 2.5-tonne electric SUV beat a sports over the 1/4-mile? Well, it's time to find out as the Tesla Design X Plaid takes on against the almighty Turbo S!

So let's see how these two rivals compare. Starting with the Tesla, it's geared up with three electrical motors that combine to provide 1,020 hp and 1,420 Nm of torque. It's quite heavy, mind, tipping the scales at 2,464 kg, and a brand-new one will set you back around ₤ 127,000.

      @Purwanti Allan – he didn’t but he reaction time was better. The Tesla is clearly the faster car however Matt’s reaction time was far, far better. If Matt drove the Tesla it would have been a one sided event.

      @MatteoFitness barely, with almost double the bhp. Most non electric cars would fare much much worse. Also, drag racing is the only thing this suc can do. Test them in corners that will be funny to watch

      @MatteoFitness against an SUV with over 1000 horsepower. Of course it’s gonna pull away in a roll, what did you expect? If you put the 2,5 ton Tesla on a track or curvy road against the Turbo S, it’ll lose.

    Although it’s quite a simple calculation to do on your own, I think showing the bhp/tonne figure of the cars you guys are comparing will be a very nice stat to have (especially in races when you have many cars).
