      Ice, snow and winter in general make this a huge problem. You have to use a fkn ice pick or a pick axe sometimes to get it unstuck, all the while someone else is constantly pressing the button.

    This is one of the features I absolutely love on our Golf 5.
    Never had an issue with it. The Tiguan, which is quite a bit younger, has the pushy flap, and it got stuck so many times.. it’s not even funny.. every time we would arrive at the pump we would get the butterflies in our stomach, not the good types, while hoping that the fuel door would open..

    Trying to make an issue out of something that isn’t a problem.

      After getting used to not faffing about the fuel door latch to fill up, IT IS frustrating.

    No, the worst thing is the beeping when you open the door with the key in the ignition, heaven forbid you just want to sit and listen to some tunes while you eat your lunch with the effing door open.

      That’s an American thing, not Japanese.

    Having recently watched a video on how Japanese get the fuel, this is a positive. The attendant fills the car and the customer stays inside.

    Also even if that wasn’t the case, you drove to the petrol station, just remember to press the button before getting out for the drivers seat, it’s not hard 馃う馃槀

    bro this is done so that gas cannot be stolen

      The push ones won’t open as well when car is locked

      @gabrielv.8652

      Actually it is done because it is a hybrid. There you have a pressure petrol/gas tank since you can drive on pure ev even it is for a short distance. It prevents leaking gas fumes in to the environment since the fuel pump is not constantly running.

      That little tank door gets locked when you lock your car, so regardless of how you open it, no one can steal your gas when the car is parked

    2. @shroomyesc Avatar
      @shroomyesc

      What kind of raggedy place do you live in where people steal fuel out of parked cars.

      Also all fuel doors lock when the car is locked anyway so that doesn’t explain it either?

    The worst thing about other countries cars is that they don鈥檛 have this security. With gas prices the way they are people will be siphoning gas. It also prevents people from putting stuff in your gas that shouldn鈥檛 be in there.

    If you can鈥檛 remember to press a simple button, before getting out of your car to pump gas, that鈥檚 on you.
