I’d like to see 2 identical Porsche’s, except one on steels and one on PCCB’s. If the difference is big enough it might persuade people to tick the option for ceramics.

      I agree

Ceramic is about the brakes not fading as quick as standard rotors during sustained track time. Not about one off braking performance.

@ Agreed but they’re usually bigger too. Interestingly, a few motorsport and track day specialists prefer to use steels due to wear and cost.

The main reason to get the ceramic brakes is if you’re going to do track days.
Ceramic brakes don’t have a significant advantage over steel brakes in terms of braking distance.
They are extremely good at dealing with high temperatures from constant braking, thus why they’re great for track cars.
They actually perform better at higher temperatures than when they’re cold, unlike steel brakes.
For daily use, steels might be better because they aren’t as grabby as ceramic brakes, and also they don’t squeak.
For track use, ceramic brakes are a must, unless you want your brakes to fade after 10 laps. Oh and you don’t have to worry about brake dust if your car has ceramic brakes.

You probably knew all this but I wanted to share it anyway in case you didn’t. It might be helpful for other users who are interested about the topic

@ I’d still like to see the comparison. Oddly, some race and track day companies remove ceramics and replace them with steels for track use

All down to those 1/100’s of a second in reaction time, tyre pressure, tire type and of course the condition of the pavement. Especially when doing the break test at 100mph 🤙🏾

I grew up with a dad who raced Rally cars and a mom who raced Motocross.

I know that there are a lot of kids and people with maybe less experience watching these videos. Racedriver Sam knows all of this but I’m not so sure about Mat 😉.
