      @@onehorsepower and unlike with Tesla Performance you wont burn your brakes after first few corners .. and ioniq5 feels quite premium from inside compared to Tesla (I can only judge by Germany made Model Y and regular Ioniq5 though)

      Indeed, unfortunately the EU version is slower than the USA version. 🙁
      The EU version does 11.3, the USA version does 10.9 on the quartermile.

      @@ameenr9129 Yeah, difference in batteries. For Europe it’s panasonic battery pack for US it’s LG battery pack which is able to release more juice to the electric motors. I don’t know why. Probably supply-related issues.

      Is it though? I mean the power deficit of the Tesla is like ⅓ of the power of the Hyundai and it held remarkably well, especially in launches from standstill and pickups. Too bad in Europe we don’t get the US 510hp Model 3 Performance…that might have been more of an even fight or even take the win in drag racing.

      So, all Tesla has to do is put in fake shifts and it’s fun? They could literally do that with a software update.

      @@rustler08 it’s not that easy, it completely replicates the ICE driving experience and was in development for at least 5 years and Tesla doesn’t have ICE experience. You also need the proper hardware, added steering wheel flappy paddles when they cut the indicator stalk? And also with very fast inverters and electric motors. Probably the M3P has that bit figured out but it won work on any Tesla…

    It’s truly incredible to think that 20 years ago it was insane to see a sports car reach at quarter mile time in the 11 seconds. Nowadays an electric 5 seater S.U.V. made by Hyundai is nearly under 11 seconds (without boost mode too)!?!
    Honestly amazing how far technology has developed in the span of 2 decades!!!

      @@karlk.6819you can’t just say “it wasn’t the fastest.” It was a multi-100k car made by two engineering powerhouses, and still didn’t reach the performance of these two cars, which sell for far less. OP didn’t mean sub-11 seconds was unheard of; they just said it was ridiculously impressive for the time, and it’s a milestone that the slr was still pretty far from, so even if “it wasn’t the fastest neither,” it still goes to show how impressive this all is.

    As an ioniq 5 owner its cool to see what they have done with the N, its batshit crazy that thing. our car is the awd 320bhp standard car and its pretty nippy, cant begin to imagine 650bhp. I think electric cars get quite a bit of unwarranted hate for the lack of sound also, it does make sound, sounds like a slightly quieter aeroplane at takeoff, i quite like it lol.

      Both are fast it’s as simple as that. The difference is the 5N and other true “performance” cars can be pushed to their limit around any track while the tesla can’t even finish a 2 min lap without over heating. The model 3 is a one trick poney.

    Idea: Somtimes its hard to tell wich Car went first over the line because the car closer to the camera blockes the view to the second. How about a drone flying over the finish line looking downwards while filming. I think it would add an interesting perspektive.
